      The vehicle warranty chose this location for repairs. Aamco repaired rear driveshaft. Stated that the shift cable also needed to be replaced & quoted $*** for all repairs. So I pulled the vehicle after the driveshaft repair & took it home with the total being $******. I had a mechanic look at it & the shifter cable was fine it was the shifter assembly that was bad. Aamco charged me $****** for inspection of the shifter assembly but never informed me it needed replaced. Aamco said it was the shifter cable. When I stopped their work they charged me $***** for restocking fee for the shifter cable which ws not needed. If he inspected the assembly & knew it was broken why was I not charged for the restocking fee for this as well? When I phoned them about it they said they knew the assembly needed to be replaced. But if this was true they should have been aware that the shifting cable itself was fine instead of charging me for restocking a item they knew was not needed to begin with. Aamco refuses to refund me the $****** or the restocking fee of $*****. I feel if the shifter assembly was inspected properly the issue with the vehicle would have been solved there. I believe, due to conversation with Aamco, they did a visual ispection than went with the most common & practical conclusion. A $***/hr charge for a visual inspection is outragious.
