Moving from out of state, we signed a lease at Oxbow Park sight unseen. Upon arrival on 8/14, we found the apartment we rented covered in cockroach feces and with a strong odor. The unit had water damage and was filthy. We were also made aware that our garage was non-functional. We attempted to express our concerns on 8/14 with the leasing office within business hours, but no one was present. We then attempted to submit a maintenance request online, but the app was non-functional. On 8/15, we reached the office to let them know our unit was unacceptably filthy, and they wiped it down. As we moved our possessions in on 8/15, we noticed dozens of cockroaches and their feces in the kitchen cabinets. We informed the leasing office, and they said they would "put us on the list." We stayed overnight in the unit, and the air quality was so poor that my wife and I each developed a cough and felt ill by the morning, even with the windows opening and our air purifier running high. On the morning of 8/16, we made the leasing office aware that we intended to end our lease. They said we must contact the Elevate Living number. We have called dozens of times and have received no response. We have been staying in an Airbnb and have signed a lease on another property. We only hope to end our lease due to uninhabitable conditions, but we cannot reach anyone from the property. We are taking all precautions to avoid spreading harmful roaches to our new apartment. Please assist us in ending our relationship or putting us in contact with this property.
