The date of service was 7/17/2024 and 7/24/24. The amount paid was 14,060. The business stated they warrantied there work for a year. My issue is that within a month I had some small holes but we chalked that up to nothing. Then within 5 months it cracked all the way across the top. There is cuts in the cement so it should have just cracked within one block not all the way across all 3 blocks on top in a straight line. I don’t believe they packed it correctly but haven’t been able to pull film from our cameras yet. When asked they said it’s trivial why it would go across all 3. They caulked it and said they would be back to caulk again but won’t replace it. There is also crumbling going on at the bottom of the driveway more than normal. They stated that they are not going to cover anything because the crack isn’t wide enough even though it goes all the way across my driveway. I have been in contact with them a lot and have not been able to resolve on my own. I would like to see the 3 blocks on top replaced and if possible the bottom area at least covered so it doesn’t continue to crumble. I would like them to stand behind there work.
I tried to add more pictures but it won’t let me so let me know where I can send more.

    Dear ******* *******

Thank you or reaching out to us regarding the concerns with the concrete work carried out at your property on July 17 and July 24, 2024. Regarding the cracks you mentioned, our policy, as outlined in our contract, states that concrete replacement is warranted only if the cracks reach a quarter-inch width or if they affect the majority of the area. After reviewing your case, the current conditions do not meet these criteria, and therefore, do no warrant a replacement under the terms of the warranty.

We have used a fiber rebar every 2' in our pour with 4" packed base course underneath it. As for the crumbling observed at the bottom of your driveway, our inspection suggests that this wear is within normal ranges. With the issue being more salt damage than anything. We believe that with minimal crumbling and hairline crack that structurally the concrete as a whole has not been compromised.

We stand by our original terms of the contract and we understand that seeing cracks can be concerning. The caulking that was applied is intended to manage any minor issues and prevent further damage. Our team will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional caulking as needed to ensure that the surface remains stable.

    Best regards,

    Dear ********
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns about the driveway installation completed on July 17th and July 24th, 2024. We appreciate your feedback and understand the importance of addressing any issues promptly to ensure your satisfaction with our work.
First, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience the crack across the top three blocks and crumbling at the end of the driveway may have caused. Regarding the crack, while our standard policy in the warranty is to address cracks that exceed ¼ inch in width, we understand your dissatisfaction with the appearance and impact of this crack. We still found no deeper issues with this hairline crack as it is very common in any concrete project and we have assured you that if it does get to the point of the ¼ inch shifting or the crack itself getting bigger, we will address it. Until then we will continue to monitor within our one year warranty period.
As for the crumbling issue, we understand your frustration. We have concluded that it is due to salt damage as it is very common with approaches to get the brunt end of it with run off from the street and to sit on the gutter. Within our contract it does state that we don’t cover salt damage. In reference to the permits, we have emailed and mailed those to your residence.
    Best regards,
    Rock Solid Construction

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because they admitted to me that this isn’t the usual standard of work they do.  They also stated that the crumbling is due to salt from the salt from the city but my other neighbors on the same street as me and in fact the same block do not have these issues so why would it only do it to my driveway. I am also contacting the city to find out what they use and if in fact it’s supposed to do that to the driveway. I will send this info to you as soon as I receive it.  I really just want them to back up their product.  When you say Rock Solid I believe my driveway should be specifically that and it has not been.

    Sincerely,
