    Do not use this company! We hired Andrew "AJ" DeJong to finish our basement. He also goes by DeJong Construction & Remodeling. We paid him a lot of money for materials in full, then he went on a long "vacation" immediately after. We found out too late that he is not operating a legal business, is not licensed, never pulled permits, & isn't legally able to pull permits. The license he sent us turned out to be a sales tax license. He claimed that he purchased our materials but we've never seen them, as they were never purchased. We fired him. He sent us over a dozen nasty text messages. When we met with an attorney, we learned that he has a very long and ongoing criminal record, including many theft and burglary related charges. The very little work he did to our basement had to be completely redone as it was done incorrectly & was not up to code.

    Stay far away from this guy. Do not let anyone you know use his services. He is not licensed. He cannot legally pull any permits, is claiming his business is legal. It is not. Do not make the same mistake we did. We have since discovered that he has scammed so many people.

    We are absolutely disgusted that this guy had full access to our home. He has such a long & ongoing criminal record.
