I contacted Grab and go to move us on July 12, 2024. I was quoted$500-575 for my 5 bed, 3 bath, triple car garage. I stated that only 2 rooms had bedroom sets and 1 was a craft room with cube shelving to be moved. I even verified that this price included the boxes and furniture. They were late in coming to the house and were informed that we had a final walk thru at 1:00. They told us the house would be empty by then. It was not empty and I personally moved things out of the bedrooms so I could clean them. They called me at closing and I was stuck in a hard place as he wanted payment and I was in front of people so could not argue. The charges were for$1755.50!!!! Over 3x what they quoted me. When questioned later, he stated that he kept telling us the update on hours. Which he did, but never explained this would cost more or how much it would be. We ended up making 3 additional loads with a truck and 3 cars! We found a glass drink dispenser shattered and a broken end table propped up against things that they didn’t tell us about. We have scratches on many furniture items including an antique bed, nightstand, custom painted dresser, dining table, exercise bike, and more. There are also scrapes on the brand new base boards and dings in my new walls. I emailed and sent pictures and just got a nasty response saying I lied to him and there were boxes in rooms. Explained those were from packing up all of the things from closets and kitchen so we didn’t have to live with boxes everywhere. I had everthing labeled where to go and they piled things everywhere. They threw our furniture taken apart in the living room and we had to put it all back together. There was no apology and he said he would buy me some paint and all the scratches were “easy fixes”. He kept saying “we worked out asses off for you” I did agree, they worked hard and it was hot out; but does not give them any right to damage our things! This is not ok so I am coming to you for help.
