We appreciate the opportunity to educate and communicate the facts of the matter involving the complaint.  The individual that filed the complaint purchased an individual season's golf pass for Kuehn Park & the East Course.  This is a value base option we offer at SFG (The City Course's). This is designed for golfers that want to play allot and save money we provide season passes that help make things more affordable VS paying green fees at each time in which a reservation is made. this is similar to a Wild Water west Pass or Great Bear Pass or Zoo Pass. It doesn't guarantee anyone the chance to play the course they want at the time they want at the day they want all the time. It is simply a value-added option and pass to help people save money.

Our records show that this patron purchased the pass during our 15% off promotion and he paid $468.87 for the pass that provides him unlimited golf opportunities at Kuehn Park and the East course for 2024. He as all pass holders and golfers must make tee times in advance and secure tee times on a first come first serve basis when the course is open and available for tee times.  The patron has complained about SFG tying up the course two night a week this year but that isn't accurate. We have held leagues ladies' leagues on two nights a week for three years.  We host many high school boys and girls meets and other events because we are a municipality serving the community golf needs in many ways. The issue this patron has about availability is unwarranted, unfair and simply a supply and demand issue.  Golf is very popular in our growing community and it's very hard to get tee times at any course public or private, Great Life of SFG right now. Golfers must book seven days in advance to secure a time and often will not get the day, time or course they choose without advance planning.

I took the liberty of searching our database that tracks when a person plays and what time and have the following information to share:

So far this season this person that elected to buy a season pass to save money has played 10 times at Kuehn Park and 11 times on the East Course. This is already $441 dollars' worth of value in two months of playing season on a purchase that cost him nearly this amount. He has essentially already paid for his pass with the amount of golf he has played, and the next 5 months is gravy so to speak.  If he continues to play 10 rounds a month, he will potentially play over 70 rounds. Without electing to purchase a pass which he has done this would cost the patron $1,491 in green fees by paying as he goes so it is safe to say this was a great purchase that he is using, and we are providing great value. (Saving him nearly $1,000 potentially in 2024).

In addition, I would like to mention that Tuesday and Thursdays are open for play before and after the league season is held in the spring and the fall.  More importantly the course is still available to him and anyone that wants to play from 7:30 a.m. until 2 pm on nights we do hold league play.  Last but not least we keep the East course open on these nights so pass holders have the opportunity to play.

To claim we are being unfair and not providing the service and value he has paid for is hard to believe and simply not true.  We have 15,000 pass holders at SFG and have over 100,000 thousand rounds played at the city courses. That is allot of activity, i  have operated the courses for the City and Managment Company for seven seasons and I have had only one other complaint in those years. The individual at that time didn't feel his was getting his value and the opportunity to play when he wanted, and we provided a 100% refund to the individual because we understood.  If this pass holder /patron feels the same way I'm more than willing to provide him with a full refund and apologize for not meeting his needs. We always stand by our Serices, programs and experience and will always offer money back if needed.

I can be reached for further discussion and would urge the individual that made this complaint to the BBB in addition to another possible complaint to the city reaches me so i can further help anyway i can.
