Service Master owned by ******************************* removed our items from our home in Sept 2021. 2 months later, when moving the items back into our home, the owner ******************************* sent a text with a photograph of my $16,000 foyer piece showing his men had broken the door and antique glass. He assured us that Furniture Medic could fix it, and never returned it to our home. After months without any updates on the item, he told us that he called the location of original purchase (************) and asked for the owner *************************** to return his call about replacing the furniture for us when we continued to ask him about it. We are friends with *************************** and called and she stated this was not accurate. She also told us it would be 4-6 months to get a replacement piece since it was coming from overseas, and that the price had also increased. We have called **** multiple times and he will not resolve the issue. We have not had any replacement of our item nor monetary value given to us for the item he removed from our home and broke. We have never seen the piece of furniture since the photo in November 2021 nor had any evidence of updates. In 11/2020, this item cost almost $16,000. The item was not even in our house 4 months before ************* removed it from our home. We want the item replaced with a brand new one, or a check for the amount to replace it at ************ since he broke it and never returned it.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/15/2022

      Response:

Two of my techs had damaged a piece of furniture of the *******. ************************* had told me that it was an $11,000.00 piece of furniture. We had it fixed by Furniture Medic but could not match up the mirror that was in it. After not being able to find someone local to replicate the mirror, I reached out to *** with ************ to see if she could get with their distributor to get us another piece of the mirror. *** said she would start looking into it and let me know. I had not heard back from her in some time so I called back up to ************ and spoke with ***, the manager, and she said she would call to see if she could get it in. No one had ever spoken to me letting me know that this piece came from overseas. Afterwards, ************************* reached out to me about the piece and wanted us to just buy them a new piece. I called ************ and purchased the new piece for the amount of $4,980.35, NOT $16,000.00. The Warehouse order number for the purchase is *****. I have since given that information to ************************* and they are now awaiting the arrival of the new piece of furniture.

      Thank you,
      **** Richards
