We changed insurance policies starting in January of 2024. We wanted to save some money and they said they have a policy like we had already for less. We went in and talked about the policy end of 2023. We filled out the paperwork, were approved, started pay premium January 1. This policy is now costing us triple what we would pay with our last insurance, which we thought was the worst but clearly we took a step down changing to Farm Bureau. No one in office mentioned that there was a 6 month preexisting condition clause and I went 6 months without treatment for chronic daily pain. My son had to have $180 ear drops that they covered 0% for an ear infection. They cover NOTHING until you hit the $3000 individual deductible. They will not cover any of the last three medications that my doctors office has called in and out of pocket would be $600+ per month.

On 5/24/24, I contact Tn Farm Bureau of Loudon. I had two policies, auto and home, that up for renewal on 6/24/2024. I received quotes on both and decided, based on their prices, that I would switch. I received the applications to sign electronically. BEFORE, I singed the auto, I noticed that the agent had put the effective date of 5/24/24. I then contacted her. She advised that she would send a correction to them. She emailed me the correction, I then signed and electronically submitted the application. On the day, 5/24/24, over the phone, I paid the auto policy in full. The Homeowners was paid within a week by my mortgage company. I finally received the actual auto policy in the mail in 6/28. The policy was mailed to me on 6/26, after the effective date. Included with the policy was a bill for $241!!. I telephoned the agent. She checked and oh, guess what, there was a policy increase on 6/1/24. No one, including the agent, apprised me of this fact BEFORE the effective date. I would have not gotten my policy through them had I known the real price. I understand there was a policy increase, but at the least had I been told when I got the quote, I could have made the effective date 5/31, and saved $241. But not an option as I was NEVER told. This sure looks a lot like bait and switch. What if it had been $1000 dollars, oh too bad you have to pay. I have had the TN insurance Commissioner look at this, while they agree that the agent was at fault, they can do nothing. (So have no idea what good they are). Anyway, as soon as it is time to renew, I will be leaving them. My advice, do not use these folks.

I turned 65 in November of 2023. I wanted supplement and not an advantage plan. In January of 2024 I spoke with a district representative for my area regarding the premium, and how often it would be increased. The woman assured me it would remain the same for five years with a five dollar increase at that time. She further stated in ten years there would be another increase. I thought that was fair so I decided to take the supplement. I have had this supplement just long enough that I can't cancel and take another supplement without filling out every health question known to man. I received a letter today stating on July the first, my premium will be increased approximately ***** dollars. If anyone reads this, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FARM BUREAU. The woman I spoke with blatantly lied to me. At this rapid an increase, I will become homeless and starving on the streets within a year.

My local agent who actual sold me my insurance and takes care of my policy is great. But you better hope you don't ever have to deal with *********************** in the claims office. He lied to me repeatedly saying he would do something by the end of the week and when I didn't hear back from him by the next week and would call in to check on him he hadn't even started doing what he promised. When I eventually got frustrated with his repeated lying and not doing his job I became short with him whenever I had to talk to him and would say the bare minimum so I could just get off the phone. He returned this by talking down to me because I'm a woman and not helping me. I ended up having to get my dad to call in and take care of the issue even though my name was on the car title. *********************** is a demeaning, sexist, useless, lying man, he repeatedly did not do the things he was supposed to do to move my claims process forward and he spoke to me as if I was a child, despite the fact that I'm a grown woman with an engineering degree. ***** slowed down my claims process so much it took me over two months to get a new car, If I had had to use my rental coverage it would have run out waiting for him to actually do his job. If he ever gets assigned as an adjuster to your case and you're a woman you should go ahead and request a change on the front end to save you the trouble and headache. If my agent wasn't so amazing I would have switched insurance companies after dealing with Chase.

Before anyone goes to Farm Bureau for your insurance needs, please read this. We are 70 years old, lived in the same house for 49 years, and have had Farm Bureau Insurance 49 years. I can count on one hand how many times we have used it. But this past year we had four claims small amounts, and they have terminated our policies AUTO, FARM and our HOME. Pay insurance every month, They will not be there when you need them.
