They have sent me a bill for ********* from service date 6/20/2022. They say it is in connection to a surgery I had on that date. They did not send this to my insurance. This is the first I have heard from this company. I think it is fraud. They do not give a phone number or any way to contact them. I do not want to pay this bill

    Business Response

***********************,  I am deeply apologetic that you received that statement stating you owed $10,630.77.  That was an error by one of our associates.  Your explanation of benefits we received showed Remote Neuromonitoring Physicians were paid $852.23.  The rest of the balance per your payer was a contractual adjustment.  You owed nothing.   The associate who made the error is correcting it and receiving some additional training.  Soon as the account is fixed, I will send you a copy of your statement from us showing the zero balance.

Again, I am sorry for this major error.  Please accept my apology. I believe it will take a week for you to receive a statement showing the adjustment correction and also showing a balance of zero.

My direct line is ************. My email is **************************************** please feel free to reach out to me for any reason.

    Again, please accept my apology.

I received a bill from SpecialtyCare, whom I have never heard of, saying I owed them $158.49 for services rendered back in January. I did have a neck surgery back in January, so it is possible that they may have been a part of that, but as I mentioned I have never heard of them so I don't know. I have left at least 5 voicemails, and sent multiple emails to find out who these people are so I can verify if its something I should pay or not and I have received zero response from them, no phone calls back, no emails back, absolutely nothing. I have however continued to receive bills from them, the last of which threatening that they are going start hitting my credit report. My credit has been being worked on for quite some time to get into a good place and now these people are threatening to negatively impact it but wont respond when trying to verify. They did not give me an account number, but on the bill it does have an Encounter # ******,

***************** had surgery on January 5, 2022. To make the surgery as safe as possible, *****************************, the surgeon, ordered intra-operative neuromonitoring from SpecialtyCare. Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) is the continuous surveillance of a patients nervous system (the brain, spinal cord, and nerves) when it can be at risk of injury during surgery. The purpose of IONM is to protect the nervous system. IONM provides an extra layer of safety for both the surgeon and most importantly, the patient.  ****************** should have described the neuromonitoring that would take place as part of Mr. ******** surgery.

Our records indicate that ****************** paid his bill.  SpecialtyCare gave ****************** a courtesy call on ***** 12,2022 and left a voicemail.  ****************** called ** on November 11, 2022.  During this second call, *****, a patient advocate, provided him with instructions on how to pay his bill through our patient portal.  Mr. ******** third call occurred on November 15,2022.  During the third call, **************** paid his bill with his credit card over the telephone.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, it was not a simple as they are stating. I called 10+ times before I talked to *****, leaving messages each time, and the way I got to her was to chose the option that I wanted to schedule a surgery. When I did talk to her, she couldn't take my payment as she stated their system was down. I called back and left her voicemails several more times to try to pay the bill. Finally I spoke with someone else and was able to pay it. This was all in addition to emails sent in every day.

    Sincerely,
