On Oct2024 we paid $1,500 deposit to 206Tours. The trip was not until end of ********** May 2025 we cancelled our trip. This was way before the 91 day no refund policy. But 206tours is stating we agreed to no refund at time of purchase. They also stated we should have bought cancellation insurance for $500 each ($1500) to get our deposit refund of $1,500. So basically, same amount of money out of pocket for us.206tours then offers - keep the deposit add $150 each (total of $450) and hold that deposit for a year for another trip. They basically want us to put more money in.For a religious groups this seems like a dubious practice. We had within time frame far away for making the full payment of our trip. We cancelled the trip way ahead of time and didn't even make the full payment yet. Only the deposit we made we want refunded.

Our records indicate that the claimant did not pay any amount to 206 Tours. The deposit for this order was paid by another party, who is the primary account holder for this booking.
Before a deposit can be made and a booking confirmed, every client must agree to 206 Tours' terms and conditions **************************************************************************** individual who paid the deposit explicitly acknowledged on October *******, at 10:37 AM, stating, "I, [name withheld], have read and agree to the entire 206 Tours Terms and Conditions."

The very first sentence of our Terms and Conditions, "Deposit, Payment Schedule & Registration A $500.00 non-refundable per person deposit is required at the time of booking "
This policy is a standard practice within the travel industry. These terms help us ensure that bookings are legitimate and to offset costs associated with suppliers for Airfare, Hotels, Restaurants, Buses, Sightseeing, and administration. 206 Tours has had this policy in place for 40 years, serving hundreds of thousands of clients without widespread complaint.

We remain willing to work towards an amenable solution to this dispute. Since you are not the account holder, we encourage the individual who made the payment to contact us directly to discuss the available options based on the agreed-upon terms and conditions. They can reach us at ************* or ******************************** .

I am rejecting this response because:

I am part of the travel group of 3

The person who paid is my senior sister!!

206tours know Im part of the family who was to travel as theyve communicated with me. Just because it was not my credit card doesnt mean I cannot complain on behalf of my family!

Yet another way they try to scam seniors!

    Sincerely,

We purchased a ********** package to **** from 206 Tours. The pilgrimage was for the purpose of attending the Canonization of a Catholic Saint, Pier ******* ********, happening on August 3, 2025. Last week, the Vatican announced that the canonization event would be moved to September 7. Obviously, this is not the fault of the tour company. My entire trip, minus the $800 trip insurance, was paid for by my employer, a Catholic parish, as my retirement gift from them. My husband and I purchased his trip and trip insurance separately, The total four our two trip packages was over $12,000. The trip company initially said they would try to move our trip date to September to include the revised schedule of the canonization, but they've now decided to keep the trip in August, without providing the event it was built around, i.e. the canonization. They have further stated they will not refund any money. I've just talked with a *** from the company. She confirms they will not refund any money, even though the focus of the pilgrimage no longer exists. We will essentially be wandering around **** for a week. Because my portion of the trip was paid for by my parish, for my retirement gift, and the parish expects me to attend the canonization, I must ***ay the parish. This is impossible for me to do.I understand that it's no one's fault that the canonization date was moved. However, the trip we purchased no longer exists, and I feel we should be entitled to a refund or certainly a credit so that we can purchase an appropriate trip package, perhaps at a later date. We do not need to spend a week wandering around **** with no canonization to attend! The *** would not answer my question about what they would do with the funds they are keeping, but I feel we are entitled to what we purchased. We feel we deserve a credit or a refund.

Regarding a fully paid scheduled Trip to ****** on December 26, 2023.Due to the hostilities in *************** 206 tours canceled the trip 78 days prior to scheduled departure. Because they canceled the trip after 90 days to departure no refund will be given. However multiple times: on July 27th (152 days prior to *********** September 20(96 days prior to *********** ********* 7 (80 days) I reached out to 206 tours regarding my concerns about them canceling the trip. Each time I was lured to continue with the original plan. It is clear from all my correspondence that I relied upon ******** representations in not canceling the trip. Even with the events on October 7th they again touted their expertise and years of experience in the Holy land. It is clear that they deceptively assured me not to cancel and get my money back. By using this delay tactic they allowed the company to cancel after the 90 day contract period and leave it's customers without any recourse and not get a refund. As a result of my family is out $27,770.

We have responded directly to this customer and have arrived at a mutual agreement prior to receipt of this compliant.

Nevertheless, we have attached our Terms and Conditions which this client acknowledged upon placing her initial non-refundable deposit.   While this client has stated they contacted us several times voicing concerns about 206 Tours cancelling this Pilgrimage - well before the terrorist attack.   We had no intention of cancelling this Pilgrimage but obviously we did not anticipate the events of October 7.  There we never any delay tactics - since absent the terrorist attack, this Pilgrimage would have occurred. Ironically, despite the client voicing her concerns the client never purchased insurance (offered anytime) which would have protected her in case of a cancellation.

Our terms and conditions are clearly stated in www.206tours.com/terms.  The terms are displayed in full and agreed to at the time of registration.   The terms are provided in the confirmation email, on the tour website, and our main website.

We had numerous discussions and emails with providing options in the form of Travel Credits - there never was a time in which $27,770 was at risk.

While we have come to an agreement with this client, we want to ensure that the story is accurate, since our reputation of honesty is extremely important to us.

Pilgrimage to Medjougre September 25-October 3,2023. Stayed at **** a visionarys house so price substantially higher. Paid total $4,834 which included $799 for a private room so as not to be disturbed by a roommate that *** snore etc. First night slept okay due to fatigue from long journey, two flights and transport from home to airport and bus ride to Ivans house. However, second night did not sleep well related to the fact that my private room was directly over the entrance to the hotel/house and the large glass and mental door banged every time someone went in and out!! Was told before pilgrimage **** would be there every day and would have an apparition of the Blessed Virgin. However, we were informed on that first day that **** would be gone for the next two days as he was going to *******. So I brought my complaint to ****** our tour guide that I was unable to sleep the night before even though I had ear plugs (which I dont normally use), a sound machine turned up much louder than usual and even took medicine to help me sleep but that the banging door kept me awake all night! The tour guide said there was a girl and two men who were leaving next day and that I could be switched to one of those rooms. So after spending another sleepless night I approached ****** and asked her if my room would be changed to one of the rooms she had mentioned the day before but she said, I cant make any changes while **** is away. So after a third straight night with no sleep I began to be sick and realizing that **** was probably back from ******* I asked ****** what **** said about my changing rooms. But she responded negatively saying, He said its your sacrifice. Really?! So I spent 9 basically sleepless nights on my $5000 pilgrimage!206 Tours emailed me asking how my pilgrimage went and after recovering sufficiently from how sick I got on the trip I responded with the above details and I was reimbursed $799 for the private room. I do not feel this is sufficient.

    Dear BBB,

The client was registered for the Tour from September 25th - October 3rd, 2023. The outbound traveling arrangements are extensive, but there is no way around that. ********** is located in a very remote area of  ****************** and the connections and lengthy transfers are the only way to get to/from.

The Pilgrimage is a custom Tour - whereby **** (Group Leader, Spiritual Director, and Owner of the Pansion/Hotel) selects the dates offered each year. Due to popularity, his dates become Sold Out quickly. Inclusions and the Day by Day Itinerary are listed on the website: www.206tours.com/medj. The Group did stay at the Dragicevic Family Home for the duration of the Tour, and **** was present for most of the trip with regards to cooking, cleaning, and spending time with the pilgrims. There were special times for prayer and group meetings (as noted in the Inclusions) as well as unlimited use of the private home Chapel - books - and tapes (which are also noted in the Inclusions). Staying with **** allows you far more access to him than a standard Tour (www.206tours.com/tour1) - where you only meet with "a" Visionary (not necessarily ****) and for approximately one (1) hour. While **** receives visions/messages each day, it does not note anywhere that he will be at the Pansion/Hotel every day with the clients.

The accommodations were Sold Out, so there was no other room to switch her to.

We kept communication with the client and offered her a refund of the Private Room in the amount of $799 (the cost of a Private Room) as a good gesture - which the client did cash. My understanding is that by cashing the Check, we accepted our apology and good faith.
