  We contracted with AHP to build our new home in the Chattanooga, TN area. Our 4th and worst new construction experience. Poor quality, poor management, poor communication and AHP's failure to complete work for which it was paid.
  1) Failure to properly secure the subfloor to floor joists resulting in popping and creaking floors. 2) AHP does not seem to know how to hang doors properly. We still have doors that are crooked and/or do not shut correctly.
  3) AHP was paid to burn/remove the brush from where they cleared our building site but failed to complete this job.
  4) AHP was paid to construct a gravel driveway. A properly constructed driveway should survive the first rainfall. Ours did not due to improper construction.
  5) AHP failed to advise us of termite service they provided. Termites were found in our crawl space that cost us over $3,000. We later learned of AHP's service which would have covered taking care of the termites at no cost to us - if AHP had communicated it to us. They have refused to do the right thing and continue to evade the issue and even lied to cover their mistake.
  6) Final grading of our yard was so poor that we would not have been able to push a lawnmower across it if we'd tried. Even though AHP's general manager claimed AHP would never allow a customer to perform work they were paid to do, he did not seem to be too concerned about us having to fix the grading of our yard. Their president's response? The base price of the house we purchased has gone up $140K since we signed the contract.
  7) We had to clean up mold/mildew in our basement garage due to AHP's failure to properly grade our property and failure to properly construct the block wall resulting in proglonged flooding.
  Certainly not what we had hoped for when we first signed up with all the really nice sales people.
  I cannot recommend this company unless you are interested in poor quality and aggravation.
