      Date of service was January 3, 2023.
      Claim was filed with Medicare --Claim ************* Medicare paid; and I paid the $226 deductible.
      Medicare reassessed the claim and denied it. They requested a refund and got their money back.
      I was told by Medicare to request a refund because that would not count as my deductible.
      I have reached out to the billing service and administrative office several times. No call backs and no refund.
      I have also filed a complaint with Medicare.

      issue but I will be glad to look into this now and get back with you further within
      minutes. I can assure you that we are happy to issue you a refund as long as
      this is compliant. I will have an update for you soon.

      I have reviewed the documentation on this complaint. We never received a call in our administrative office from Mr. ****** but we did receive a piece of mail sent via USPS. When we received this information we were told that he had also called our billing company on 4/20. Our billing company advised him that they would place his account on hold and inquire with Medicare and the process normally takes 30 days. I asked the billing company to follow up with me personally when they heard something about this and I would give him a call personally and explain. The reason I waited and wanted to be sure is because the mail he sent us in our office was slightly confusing because in one place it looked like he had a zero balance and in another place it stated he had not met his deductible as of yet (which would have been due at the time of service). I called and escalated the case with my billing company and at this time we feel comfortable refunding Mr. ****** his $226 as they further investigate. We will mail his check this afternoon.

      I would like to thank you again for helping resolve this matter. I am 77 years old and have never filed a complaint against a business. I did receive a refund check from Diagnostic Pathology yesterday.

      I hope the practice manager will look into the lack of documentation in her office and billing services. The complaint was about service on January 3rd. Of the three calls to the billing service, two promised call backs. There were no call backs and evidently no documentation. The call made to the administrative office was also not documented. The promised call back did not occur. The person I spoke to in the administrative office was Gayla.

      I am satisfied with the outcome. Thank you again.
