    I stayed at Athena Inn on 03/29/2023 for 1 night. Check-in was acceptable, clerk was cordial. Room was clean. Everything was fine until 9:45 am when I returned from getting an oil change. The check-out time is 10 AM, per the clerk. I agreed to checking out at 10 AM. I get back and there are housekeepers in my room… my belongings are sitting on the ground outside. I look at the clock, my phone, and I even looked at the clock in the lobby. 9:45 AM. There was no reason to enter my room and toss my things outside at any time before 10 AM. To make matters worse, I had a fairly large amount of cash zipped up in a small bag (I had just cashed a settlement check the day prior). I double checked before I left that the bag was zipped. When I picked it up off the ground EVERY single compartment had been unzipped/open. I count the money and there is AT LEAST $400 missing from the envelope. The housekeeper kept looking over her shoulder at me and they both looked nervous. I did not count the money until after I had left and had I done that while at the hotel I would probably be in jail right now. The worst thing to be in this world is a THIEF and that’s who runs this hotel! Was it a good idea to carry that much cash? I’d say no. But these thieves will get their karma one day. Hope my money served you well, Athena Inn. Thanks for entering my room, taking my stuff.
