My 3 year old healthy English Bulldog went in for his well check and annual vaccines. He was determined very healthy and in great shape as always. They attached his leash to an AirTag rather than collar D ring which led to an incident in the lobby. No dogs were injured and both were checked and determined to have no issues. Please note this is a very friendly non aggressive animal. Arrived home approximately 8 minutes later and he began having respiratory issues. I called and told them he was in distress and they told me to bring him back ASAP. Arrived back within 7-10 min. Was told they couldn’t care for his respiratory issues and I needed to take him to the ER. They gave him Benadryl and something for nausea and dismissed us. We drove immediately to the nearest ER with their vet tech who volunteered given my ride had gone to pick up my son at school. Arrived at ER on Broad Street in severe distress it took us 10-15 min to get to the nearest ER. CPR and intubation and IV medications started immediately and he died within 30 min of arrival. I filed a formal complaint to the BBB and filed a complaint with the State Veterinary Board on Animal Clinic Downtown. A healthy young dog should not die after their normal vaccines. The ER was amazing! Animal Clinic Downtown was incompetent and non caring.
