    If I could, I would give this place a negative star!!!! My sisters prom was held at this location as well as a coworkers wedding.. (so I knew the location was beautiful) Even though I got married years ago, Id like to leave my review now.. I was working with a really sweet lady when I was preparing for my wedding that was employed by Esplanade Memphis.. When she left or whatever the case was, my wedding plans went down the drain!!!! I paid my deposit and requested my ceremony outside by the waterfall.. Also, I was going to rent both ball rooms meaning the only place I wasnt going to use, was a small room in the back of the building I was told if it rained the day of my ceremony, there was no guarantee that they would set things up for me in the ballroom for my ceremony.. Talking about a waste of time and money!!!!! Needless to say, I lost my deposit because I didnt want my ceremony ruined if we had crazy weather the day of I rented another venue that was more than willing to set things up for my ceremony inside of the building if it rained the day of!!!!

    Hello ******, I'm sorry to hear of your less than pleasant experience here at Esplanade in the booking of your wedding. Unfortunately, I wasn't here when your wedding was scheduled in May 2013. Had I been, I would have been more than happy to accommodate you with a rain plan.However, I searched for record of your wedding and didn't see that your wedding was scheduled outdoors. It shows ceremony in Ballroom A and reception in Ballrooms ****** Perhaps that was revised at some point as I did find notes of other changes such as several date changes from 2011 to 2013 and notes of contract revisions and colors, etc.There was a note that the EVENT/WEDDING was canceled and your damage deposit of $500 was initiated to be returned on 2/07/2013. Our contracts stated then and now that of the $1,500 total deposit, $1,000 is non-refundable in case of cancellation. If that wasn't explained, I'm truly sorry. But it should be spelled out in the copy of your signed contract (which you signed more than once) and should have initialed off on various terms accepting those conditions.Again, I'm sorry that you were not happy with your wedding plans and grateful that you found another venue that was more accommodating to you several months prior to your wedding date.Here at Esplanade Memphis, we take great strides in making sure our clients weddings are a good memory that they can share memories of for years to come.
