Date work began: August 16, 2024 and subsequent dates.The tasks contracted included replacement -rotted wood on the porch -water-damaged ceiling -damaged bedroom drywall -rotted wood/trim on garage Summary:On 08/29/24, their employee began work on my property but failed to complete any tasks to an acceptable standard or in a timely manner. Throughout the project, this employee displayed unprofessional behavior, including arguing about incomplete tasks, attempting to reduce or exclude work that was contracted, and providing misleading quotes. His repeated failures ultimately led to my decision to ask him to leave the premises.Subsequent visits from their team did not resolve the poor-quality work originally performed, nor did they complete the job to an acceptable standard. As a result, I had no choice but to terminate their team and inform them that other contractors would need to finish the work. I have documented evidence of the substandard workmanship, including improperly installed porch boards, unaddressed ceiling repairs, and unsatisfactory drywall work. Additionally, the crew caused further damage to my property due to their negligence and incompetence. I also have documented evidence showing that their team misrepresented the status of the work, including falsely claiming to have completed tasks that were never undertaken.Following a no-show appointment, I informed Mr. Handyman on 09/18 then again on 09/23 and 10/8 that I would need to hire a different company to complete the job and repair their damages. On Oct 29, they sent a bill for the entire job even though it was incomplete. I sent a certified letter (attached) on 11/13 with the demand. No one from their company has attempted to contact me to resolve this issue. The specific claims are noted in the attached letter. Photos and documentation can be provided. The total amount owed to me by Mr. Handyman of ******* is $4,497.75 (includes refund of initial payment $1670.62)Business Response

We take customer feedback seriously and appreciate the time you took to detail your experience. After reviewing your letter and the specifics of your claims, we want to address the situation as follows:
Our team made every effort to perform the work contracted to the best of our ability. Unfortunately, the opportunity to complete the agreed-upon repairs was not afforded to us, as we were asked to cease work and leave the premises.
We strive to resolve customer concerns whenever they arise, but in this case, we were unable to evaluate or address any alleged deficiencies due to the termination of our services.The request for a refund cannot be honored, as the services and materials provided were performed and delivered in accordance with the scope of work at the time.
While we regret that the situation did not meet your expectations, we stand by the work completed up to the point of your decision to end the project. Should you wish to further discuss this matter, please contact us directly.

I had a shed finished as an office in November 2023 which I work out of daily. When the project started, we told the estimator that we would like to have a mini split heat pump installed for cooling/heating. The project manager (*******) assured us that it would be better to purchase a portable ** unit and he would build an enclosure to keep it in and everything would work fine. We have had many issues with the ** unit, starting in the winter and the inability for it to drain and now it does not cool enough to reduce the temperature and the humidity it creates is causing the paint to bubble. We brought this to the attention of Mr. Handyman service manager (***************) who assured me it would be not an issue to fix. They apologized for the bad initial recommendation and provided a quote to remove the box for the portable ** unit as if it were never there.The quote they provided was over $2k. After calling to explain that the only reason that box was there in the first place was because of their recommendation and we already spent over $4k to install the new mini split, they said they could do it for $2k even, which we believe is still too high.No employee that worked on our project still works there and we went with them based on their satisfaction guarantee. It has been nothing but issues and we have tried to work with them, they have been responsive for the most part but Im self employed with a baby on the way, and most of my maternity leave savings has been used to install the heat pump that we initially requested. We are an active duty military family and believe they should cover half of the $2k to account for the additional expenses we incurred for using their recommendation.Business Response

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration that *********************** has experienced.
Regarding the project to finish ******************** shed as an office, we understand that there were issues with the initial recommendation for the cooling solution. We acknowledge that a portable AC unit was suggested by our project manager,*******, and that it has not met ******************** needs, causing subsequent problems.
Our service manager, ****************, has been in communication with **************** to address these issues. We provided a quote for the removal of the enclosure for the portable AC unit, which **************** found to be too high. We understand the financial burden this has caused, especially given the substantial investment already made for the new mini-split system and the circumstances surrounding her active duty military family and upcoming maternity leave.
In light of these considerations and our commitment to customer satisfaction, we propose the following resolution:
We will reassess the quote provided for the removal of the portable AC unit enclosure to ensure it reflects a fair and reasonable cost.
We will offer to cover half of the revised cost, as requested by ****************.
We value **************** as a customer and strive to rectify this situation promptly and satisfactorily. We appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns and restore her confidence in our services.

Date of service: 7/25/23 Price: $99 for in home estimate Issue: quoted price for services more than three times more than the next most expensive handyman service I wish I had more thoroughly researched this company. Other buyers have warned that they use a predatory practice of charging a $99 diagnostic fee, then quoting absurdly high prices compared to other handymen for the services, so that the buyer has no choice but to walk away and surrender the diagnostic fee. I think they must rely on people not using their services and making money off this fee.They quoted installation of a Ring camera, battery operated - not requiring electrical work, less than 1 hour of labor - at $417.50.To uninstall and reinstall 3 closet shelves - $1,530.00 This is more than what ****** charges to install new shelves, including the product.To install a TV - Labor only, if we supply the mount, and the holes are already measured and drilled in the wall from a previous wall mount - $525.00 The technician conducting the estimate spent less than 5 minutes in my home, and agreed when confronted about the quoted prices for labor that he personally would not pay it.Business Response

Every vehicle is marked/wrapped and tracked so that we can also ensure that the appropriate amount of time is spent with our clients. Our service is unique and caters to the needs of customers who want personalized quotes to fit their needs. We did not satisfy this customer and gladly refund the $99 she paid to obtain the quotes we sent her for work that we would have also been able to do upon approval. The refund has already been issued.
