I rented a 5x10 storage unit from Storage Depot. On 10/22/24 at 2:00 pm I arrived at the facility to help a friend move out of her unit. Upon arrival I saw 2 sheets of paper on my unit door. It was a24 hr eviction notice for breach of contract. I called the number and the lady kept repeating that I had 45 mins to get my stuff and it would be locked. I was beyond upset. I couldn't think straight & I was barely able to get any of the things out bc the maintenance woman was telling me to leave the unit and she locked it. I've been so distraught over this. I barely had any belongings left and now I have half of that. What I was able to calm down I contacted the storage unit again questioning how I was informed of this eviction which I felt was illegal put in a notice on a storage door that I hadn't been to in a week doesn't seem quite legal and I also informed them and I didn't not want to take this to court but if I had to that I would because this is not how you treat people. I read over my contract with them which I've never signed they just put it in my file online and sent them another email saying they were in breach of contract themselves for not sending something to me by certify or electronic mail. Never heard nothing back from them. Fast forward to yesterday which was October the 25th I receive a certified email saying that my lease was being terminated I had 24 hours to get my belongings the same exact thing that was on my storage door but this time I did it by certified electronic mail but I was told when I left there on Tuesday not to return or that would be criminally trespassed. So I sent them another email questioning why they would send me something 3 days after they already locked me out of my storage unit and threatened me with trespass I need to know where to proceed from here to get my belongings that I hope are still somewhere but I still even if they're gone I don't want these people that think they can do this to people.
