In June, my sister accidentally left her computer at my home after a visit and asked me to ship it back to her home in North Carolina. I took her laptop, in its padded case to the UPS store in Farragut, on June 22, to have it packed and shipped to her, paying extra to have it insured for $500. When the package arrived on June 24, there was a large hole in the box. When she attempted to boot up the computer, she got a strange image for about 30 seconds after which the screen went blank and subsequently would not boot up. She had taken pictures of the entire process. After summarizing the events and including the attached pictures, she emailed the information to Chandler, the manager of the UPS store in Farragut to initiate a claim. Subsequently, an investigation ensued and all the requested information was provided. Months went by. Finally, I received a text message from Chandler on November 11 indicating that he "just got off the phone with ups they told me that a payment for the item is being process and they may send me something in about two days regarding it being sent and then may send a check out in about two weeks or so". On December 6, not having heard from him nor having received a check, I contacted Chandler again. His position is that he "has done his part." I asked yesterday for the number of the UPS office to which he was sending the information/documents. I called and was passed along FIVE times from Gabriella, to Julian, to Kara, to Marvin to Danny as each escalated my claim. Everybody is finger pointing to someone else, and SIX MONTHS have gone by without the claim being paid. The last person, Danny, indicated that the store needs to contact the insurance adjuster, and refused to share any information with me since I was considered a "third party." Today, when I called to follow up, Chandler wouldn't even come to the phone and, in spite of repeated attempts to reach him, left me on hold for over 30 minutes. I could use some help!
