I bought the knife for my wife for Christmas (purchase date 12/21/2024). After the very first use, it rusted within 30 mins. I reached out to the company asking for a refund, and they told me that the knife has to be oiled every time you use it. They also said the knife would develop a patina over time. I reviewed the site, and it says oiling is not required, but can help maintain the longevity of the knife. Also, this isn't a patina, it's chunks of rust (see pics).I tried to leave a review on the site, which made me realize their reviews are fake. You can't leave a review, I tried several times and nothing shows up. Also, since I bought the knife in December, the number of reviews (3) hasn't changed. They just show a perfect 5 star rating. This company is misleading the public with fake reviews, false advertising (oiling not required), and has no intent to replace a clearly faulty product. I do not believe the knife is safe to use with the amount of rust on it.I would like a refund.

The knife this customer purchased is from our V1 collection which can be found in our "Last Chance" section of our website. These knives are made with high carbon steel and must be oiled after every use to prevent corrosion. The listing the customer was referring to is the V2 listing which is made from high carbon stainless steel and does not need to be oiled. We introduced these knives in November of 2024 and we moved our V1 knives to Last Chance with a significant discount. This information is very clearly labeled on our website. We have been selling V1 knives for 5 years with no issues. We include a knife care instruction card with a QR code to videos showing how to care for the knives, a microfiber cloth and a free knife oil sample bottle. Each knife also comes with a warning card saying that they need to be oiled to prevent rust. This is a very common process with High Carbon Steel.

Our reviews are posted to our website, 7 days after the customer leaves a review. The reason this customers review did not show up, is because they left it on a product they did not purchase. We send a link to each customer email, asking for their review on the specific product. This customer tried to leave a review on a V2 product, when they purchased V1.

We tried to explain everything above to the customer via email.
