On May 22, 2024 I gave Nashville RV $1000 to hold a travel trailer for possible sale pending the closing of a lot of land I bought in ********** on June 21, 2024 & approval of a loan application. Over the next month, I spoke off & on to the onsite finance/loan manager, *****, updating him on my trip down there. Once down there, he set up an appointment to meet with him after my closing on the 21st. I still have the pad of paper w/ the notes I took during our conversation. He had me put in the directions from where my closing was to their location in ***********. It would be a total of 5 hrs of driving in 1 day. I am legally permanently disabled & such a drive would cause extreme pain so I verified the time to be 1:30. He agreed. I heard from him 30 mins prior to arriving at which point he told me that my appl was DENIED & claimed he NEVER told me to go there! I told the truth & said he was a liar. He told me to "never call there again" and that he would refund my $1000. down payment "immediately". This was on the 21st. It hasn't been refunded to my bank account. I have bought an RV elsewhere w/ a credit score of 769, no problem. Since I was told that I can "never call" there again I'm contacting the BBB. I want & need my $1000 back as ***** said, IMMEDIATELY.Business Response

Good morning,
Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain bank approval for this applicant from two separate lenders.
We respectfully requested the customer not arrive for pick up until the loan was approved and the unit prepped and ready for pick up.
Lender #1 responded: DECLINED: APPLICANTS ADDRESS IS FOR AN RV PARK (OUTDOOR RESORTS AT **********) - OUR FINANCING IS FOR RECREATIONAL USE ONLY ***|
Lender #2 responded: Application Does Not Meet Minimum Credit Score Requirements.
The lenders will notify the applicant in writing of their decision and reasoning.
We asked the applicant for proof of ownership/ residence to attempt to overturn lender #1's decision, The applicant refused to provide any supporting documentation
We offered to refund the applicant as we do not keep down payments on deals that are not financeable.

I am rejecting this response because: The issue is not their inability to finance. I've recently qualified for a mortgage and after their inability to finance I was approved by three other RV dealers w/ a high credit score of 769. Got a brand new camper with a fireplace and FREE delivery thru them. ALL 3 of my credit scores were in the 700s. I had NO DEBT and could prove it even if it still showed on my report and the DISCHARGED bankruptcy which was SEVEN YEARS AGO was due to serious injuries that left my PERMANENTLY & LEGALLY DISABLED. I took early retirement and went on social security as well and rebuilt my credit. They still have not refunded my $1000. They are thieves and liars. I was told NOT to call there by the assistant manager ***** and when I did call to get a status on the refund TWICE the manager **** refused to talk to me and hung up on me when I was transferred.
We are now going into the second week and these thieves still have my money.
***** originally said it would be released immediately...that was SIX business days ago. ****** told my Realtor, *********************************, who called on Friday on my behalf that it will now be it hadn't been released as ***** had said it would be immediately but rather it will now take another three to six business days. Again, they are liars.
My issue is not with their lending, they did me a favor in sending me to a far better dealership. My issue is with them returning my money and lying about not only the appointment that I made with ***** but also him saying he'd refund the money immediately... normally that's 5 business days.
We are going into the second week and as of last Friday it had just been released...so they say.
Sincerely,

Follow up:l after rereading their response: Again, the dealership is lying. I didn't refuse to provide proof of residency. That makes no sense. I needed a home IMMEDIATELY for my lot. First of all, I told them where I'd be moving from the start. It's not an RV park per se but a condo association with a board and HOA fees, that's why I was able to qualify for a mortgage.I OWN the lot of land. They knew this. But let that go.
***** seems unable or unwilling to simply say he made a mistake, which I would have respected more.
I have serious disabilities and driving long distance (more than an hour) makes them worse and can leave me crippled and in pain for days. I'm always EXTREMELY careful about making appointments far away and verify them repeatedly. ***** had an appointment with a couple and wanted to work me in after my 9 am closing 3 1/2 hours away. While we were talking on the phone the day before, he had me put in their address and confirm the distance. He mentioned the time change. I'm from ** and wasn't aware of TN time changes. HE brought it up and said that so long as I made there by a certain time we'd be "Good to go." Just "call him after the closing so he could run my credit". I did so and started the ride down there.
When I was about 30 minutes away I thought it was strange that I hadn't heard from *****. So I pulled over and called. He said that my application was denied but if I could show my residency he may be able to work things out with another lender. I said great I'm almost there, about 30 minutes away, I have my closing documents, could he make copies? That is when he flipped out and said "Don't you dare come here! I don't want you putting pressure on anyone down here!" I said "You told me to come down and we made an appointment! What are you talking about?!" That is when he lied and said he never told me to come down and he flipped out when I spoke the truth and said that he was lying. Sorry, truth hurts.
I would never have driven three and a half hours to a location that I know nothing about with my painful disabilities unless I verified it with him the day before. I have my phone records and I have my notes that I took while talking to him. He is a liar and extremely unethical and shame on the manager for not calling to hear my side of the story. Again this has nothing to do with their refusing my application. I found a better RV from a better company closer by with better customer service. This has to do with them lying.
These people in management use abusive tactics: gaslighting and the silent treatment. It's disgraceful and they are not qualified to manage.

Here are the notes I scribbled when talking to ***** the day before my closing. If you look up the page I was staying in ************. I had to drive to *********** an hour and a half away. I made notes of the distances. Three quarter of the way down to the page I wrote as I talked to *****: 9 am (my closing); 1:30 (the time I'd arrive but apparently it would be 12:30 in ********) and their address he gave me to put into ****** Maps to tell him how long it would take me to get there after my closing.
One of us is lying and it's not me. I'm a devout ********* and I don't name call. I also despise lying and liars.

I am a retired and disabled veteran. On 21 January 2023 I attended the Nashville RV show at the Nashville fairgrounds. I placed a $1000.00 deposit on a camper from Nashville RV (**** *******., ********, ** *****), got conflicting information on my truck's towing capacity, contacted Nashville RV Sales Manager (***********************) and attempted to get a refund. Have tried to contact the General Manager (**** Williams) twice (he has not returned any of my calls) and I have received no refund from the company. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. Nashville RV has done nothing to resolve the issue with **** found a camper I liked and talked with ***** about it. I gave him information about my towing vehicle. He said my vehicle would not tow the camper. I found a website stating my vehicle should be able to tow the camper. The sales manager said that I could put a deposit down ($1000.00) to hold the camper pending me calling a dealer to get my tow rating. He also said I could sign a waiver to use my truck to tow it. The following day after doing some additional research, I was uncomfortable with towing the camper with my truck. I emailed ***** saying I would like a refund due to that fact. I never heard anything from him. I contacted a **** dealer about the towing capacity and they could not give me a straight answer either. I did not want to damage my vehicle. I called *****, **************, to cancel the purchase and obtain a refund. He asked for my VIN and said he would get back to me. He did not and I had to call him again. I told him that I contacted two dealerships and got conflicting information on my towing capacity. He said the dealer he talked to said my truck was capable of towing it so he didn't see the issue. I told him I was uncomfortable towing it and would like a refund. He now said the deposit was non-refundable, where before he told me they would refund it if my truck couldn't tow it. Nothing I remember said the deposit was non-refundable.Customer Answer

The company has contacted me, asked me to remove the negative reviews I left on ***************** and Yelp. They have refunded the amount. I am satisfied with their response.
