  We have a home that was built in 1930, that is loaded with charm but needed some adapting to our family’s needs. It had two too many doors and one large window that we never used because it looked directly at the neighbor’s driveway! We also needed to have new windows and floors installed, custom bookshelves built, and of course new paint. We decided to hire Fred because from Day One you could tell he was someone that was knowledgable and someone you can trust. Having someone you can trust to do projects in your home is so important because they become a part of your lives for at least a month or so! Fred took care of everything: the supples, installation, paint, and making sure that the brick installers completed the job successfully as well. I now have an office that used to be an “all weather” porch that I can actually be in all day, another office/second bedroom that has more wall space thanks to the seamless work Fred did in closing up a large window and door (not to mention it was with plaster!) He was really precise in doing “delicate demo” since we were trying to save as much of the old house charm as possible. We were even able to use one of the doors in my new office, and it looks beautiful. Cost wise, everything was up front and there were no surprises (even though he was very gracious about us adding items along the way (like extra plugs and installing a storm door). We also had our attic re-insulated and part of our floor lifted which Fred took care of as well. He communicated with us every step along the way, which is also so important. We hope to have a custom closet installed in the near future and will definitely call Fred to do that project as well! 10/10 recommend Fred Oakley for your home renovations!

  I cannot recommend Fred highly enough. He gutted a small bath from the floor up after a water leak was found to have rotted out the floor, and up into the walls. High quality work and attention to detail, respectful of a home full of dogs and cats making sure the door he used stayed secured the entire time. I was the homeowners contact, for lack of a better word, while Fred and nationally known companies, *** and ********, came to do their work. Make Fred your Contractor!!! Let him deal with and schedule any other workers you need around his work!!! The homeowner hired and scheduled others that were solely focused on their job, not what the homeowner had going on, or that Fred's work was going to be complicated and even COMPROMISED by their disregard and to my face lies. As the go-to, middle person it was VERY frustrating not knowing anything about home construction, and you have 2 nationally known companies trying to shine you over just to get their job done. Luckily, Fred was there! He always immediately stopped what he was doing to explain what was going on both from his side and the other, separate, jobs going on. His experience and expertise was my only relief in that the work being done was being done right. I hate that he had to stop his work a few times because of the other two that were scheduled at the same time, but Fred was always understanding when the others were obviously annoyed by my asking them about working with his side of the home renovations too, honestly it was all about them. Hire Fred! He is honest, knowledgeable, and very highly skilled. He is easy to approach with questions and issues, and I just wish the homeowner was getting the entire home renovated with Fred doing it all!

  Mr. O***** did a fantastic job on several house projects we were desperately needing done. Fred was always on-time, professional, and honest. He did excellent work, communicated well, and was a trustworthy partner. I highly recommend him!

  Fred O***** is the best contractor we have ever worked with. He does what he says he will do, when he says he will do it, at the price he said he would do it for. He is also the *cleanest* contractor we have ever known! Honest, reliable, great communication, improvises when he needs to, listens to what the customer wants -- can't recommend him enough. Our bathroom (not remodeled since the house was built in 1960) is absolutely transformed, thanks to Fred. And a space which the realtor said absolutely could not hold a dishwasher--now has a dishwasher! We are able to stay in our house longer now with Fred's improvements, and we are grateful to him for his professionalism, his courtesy, his good nature, his expertise, his attention to detail, and his skill. Thank you, Fred.

  We hired Fred for a bathroom remodel, adding several interior doors and drywall work. Fred was very professional and polite. All work was completed in a timely manner. He provided updates and pictures to show how the work was coming together while we were not in town.
