I am filing a complaint against No Place Like Home Furniture Store, located at *******************************************************************, due to serious issues involving unauthorized applications, fraudulent practices, and privacy violations, and being denied credit on August 1, 2024.My signature was forged on applications submitted to various financial institutions. This constitutes forgery and aggravated identity theft under 18 U.S. Code 1028A.Despite signs stating no credit check was needed, I was misled by a representative who assured me no credit report would be pulled. My application was improperly circulated, resulting in unauthorized hard inquiries that damaged my credit report. I also did not receive an adverse action notice, violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act. A store representative pressured a friend of mine to provide personal information to secure a loan on my behalf, which was unethical.Unauthorized Sharing of Personal Information: My personal data was shared with third parties without consent, violating the ********************************** Act.Fraudulent Misrepresentation: The stores false representations regarding credit checks and financing constitute fraudulent misrepresentation, a tort claim involving false statements made to coerce action. They said I only need a bank account to get approved. I also did not give my consent to submit my nonpublic information to any third parties. There are signs all over the store as well as the front door that state NO CREDIT CHECK NEEDED. This is fraudulent misrepresentation due to the fact I was told the offered inhouse financing and I specifically asked did they pull from credit reporting agencies or partnered with financial institutions. The answer was No.Lack of Documentation: I did not receive any contracts or applications to sign.I demand an investigation, written confirmation of actions taken, compensation for damages, and compliance with applicable laws.Initial Complaint

I made 2 separate purchases from the ********** location. A dinette set in 11/2023 and an ****** Pwr *************** w/ad sofa purchases 1/6/24 & delivered 1/13/2024. Upon delve the lower h it on the right side of the sofa isnt operational. The storm came and the store was closed for a week. I called everyday and spoke with the manager on 1/20/24 was advised to contact Warehouse manager, who asked me to send video on 1/31/24 no response from mgr. After maybe a week, I call mgr., he recd video and will replace unit. I call, mgr says unit must be ordered. No further contact from mgr. I call again mid February 24, mgr. says not in stock, he hasnt forgot, still no replacement unit. Contact ********** store, refer me back to warehouse mgr. call warehouse manager, no answer. Call ********** store, mgr busy, referred back to warehouse mgr. not in. Finally speak to Hadeel 3/9/24 because mgr not available to be told I shouldve gotten the warranty. I wasnt offered a warranty and Ive already been told it would be replaced. No return call from mgr and ****** refused to provide owners name. The dinette set during the new year was damaged by placing a microwaved dish on top. The varnish is completely ruined. I would like a replacement sofa as promised. Ive lost on the table because I didnt think it would be covered. Its poor quality and I shouldve used a vendor of better caliber. Im on my asking for what was promised to me. I went to purchase furniture I being looking at through the window for over a year. I save and finally was able to purchase my wife dream living room set for around $11,000. My wife and myself both asked the saleman and manager if we would be getting new furniture and not the display and he reassured us it would be brand new out the box.They showed up at our door with this floor display unit ( which was damaged) which we refused to accept. The delivery guy contacted their manager with our concern and we were promised a new set within a week it has to be order.I contacted this store every week for months and still no furniture. I finally figured Im not getting my furniture and asked for a refund. I was told they dont give refunds.I guess they just stole our money and Im looking into legal was I can be compensated.Initial Complaint

I went to this business on Oct 8, 2023 to submit my final payment for an ******************** set (includes a table and four chairs) my wife and I purchased through their layaway service. When we got to the business, we talked to a manager there named *******, who told me and my wife that our table would be delivered from a third party business in a week. When the next week came, we went back to the business and our table set was not there and ******* wrote on our receipt the number to their other store on ******************************** *******, **. ******* told ** to call that store because that would be where our table set would be delivered to. When we got to **** Winchester store we talked yo **** the manager, and he said our table set was on back order. They did offer the display table for us to take but we ordered a brand new table not a display table. We have been calling and visiting both stores several times and no table set was recovered. Finally, on December 18th, 2023 *******, from the store we bought the table set from, told me that *** said we would have a refund check for our table set within ***** hours which was December 19th, 2023. It is now December 20th, 2023 and we are still waiting for our refund. This is truly unprofessional and ridiculous.Customer Answer

I placed 2 separate orders for merchandise. One I paid cash for one I got financed for. The first order that I paid cash for when I got it, it was not what I paid for but a cheaper knock off version of what I had seen in the store. I then went back to the store and spoke to the sales person. She played dumb like she had no idea what I was talking about. I then told her to cancel the financed order as I had not made a payment yet and it had not been delivered. She called the regional manager and he begged me to give them a chance to fix it. I told him novand he stated he would cancel the order. By the time I made it back home he called me again and asked that we meet at the location in ******* to discuss it. He even offered me free items as long as I didnt contact the finance company. I refused and called the finance company and they informed me that they were told the items had already been delivered and accepted. I told them that was not the case and I would not accept them. They then said the would need to investigate and I would need to file an affidavit. But somehow they sent it to the wrong email address and I never received it. When I called them back they are resending it within 3 to 5 business days. I tried calling the General manager but he hung up on me and refused to speak to me. He even lied to me and said he had called me but I did not answer and he said he text me but I had no record of it in messages and neither did he. They tried to pull a bait and switch. Im glad I had 2 separate orders and I would not accept the 2nd one. This was a month ago and today I get a notification from the bank telling me they took a 514 dollar payment out of my account for the order that was never received and had been canceled 2 days after it was placed. They are refusing to give me the money back and told me my only option is to let them come out with the furniture. I refused and he hung up on me. I will never do business with them again. The customer picked out the merchandise thats in question and got approved for the purchase to get it financed. The customer walked the showroom floor and picked out everything that is on her invoice with her salesperson. When the order was ready for delivery the customer came by to see the merchandise and started complaining about the merchandise was not what she picked out. We told her the order was exactly what she picked out but she insisted it wasnt so we told her no problem what you like to do. She then started being very rude and disrespectful using profane language. We told her we would not tolerate being disrespected and we would have the district manager contact her. Once the district manager called the customer to assist her the customer was being very disrespectful and using profanity again so we decided there was no reason for speaking with her at this point anymore. We then proceeded to cancel the contract and part ways with this customer.

On 3/7/2023 I purchased a *************** from No Place Like Home I did not receive what I ordered the product is the complete opposite from what was described to me from the employee named *** I contacted the company immediately and got the run around the next day after it was delivered and told them I was unhappy with the purchase I asked for a replacement or a refund and I was told that I couldnt have either and I was being pressured to sign a contract and I have absolutely no idea what it is. I was never told their policy is a no refund or replacement policy. I just want to return the furniture and get a complete refund on this entire purchase.Business Response
