    Expect to wait over an hour past your appointment time with no warning when you sign in. Castle Dentist sends daily text/email reminders for you to be on time but they don't provide the courtesy to tell you that you will be waiting an inexcusable amount of time even when you show up early/on time. The office staff is rude and has a poor attitude. They blame being understaffed, however I was at Castle Dentist twice, once to take the x-rays and the 2nd time to actually get my teeth cleaned. During my initial visit and x-rays the dentist (Dr. P****) asked how I was doing, I stated I was not happy due to being in the waiting room for almost 2 hours past my appointment time and she seems unphased that my time was valuable too. Dr. P***l came back to tell me that I had 2 cavities in-between my teeth on opposite sides and that I would have to come back for 2 separate appointment but was not able to show me where they were. I think she was trying to get me to come back and spend money. They told me I had great insurance and my out of pocket would only be $40 a tooth. When I got my cleaning done, the hygenist told me it would be better to have the rinse fluoride versus the paint on, but she did this to take advantage of my insurance. Even though I was not the last one in the office, I was the last one called back and the last one to leave. The hygenist did not want to actually do the paint on fluoride as she had already stalled and took and over an hour on the cleaning and it was time to go home. When I was leaving I asked if they had any dental floss and only then did I receive a new toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss. I would avoid at all cost scheduling any dental work with Castle Dental in Hixson, Tennessee.

    It is with great apology that Ms. ***** waited an extensive amount of time with our office. This is not normal practice for Dr. P****. The first visit with our office is always exam & x-rays only, any treatment is rescheduled back with the provider or hygienist to allow appropriate time for any treatment needed. Per chart notes I do see where the patient was diagnosed with fillings. This was indicated on her x-rays and was described by Dr. P****. I apologize the hygienist was not fast enough for the patient during her cleaning visit as the hygienist she saw takes great pride in what she does and depending on the condition of the patients teeth, cleaning may take longer than 20-30 minutes. We do not dictate or diagnose treatment based on what insurance pays. We diagnose treatment based on patient needs and concerns. As far as the patient asking for floss, we could have possibly been out of patient/individual floss at the time. Standard visits with the hygienist do consist of the patient leaving with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss; unless we have ran out. I feel as thought Ms. ***** was treated properly, with correct and proper diagnosis and treatment. I am however sorry she was not satisfied with her visit, but there were no wrong doings on our end.
