      12/22/22 Jackson Electric Authority, 351 *******************************************************************. Jackson ** *****..had a power outage from 6pm Thursday evening until about 8pm ,around 8:13pm I called JEA tech support for help. Explained that my internet service never reset, *********** Rep said that he would send signal to router which he did service didn't reconnect. So he submitted a work order to come out. Friday Morning 12/23/22 around 8am I contacted JEA tech support again to confirm work order, Service Rep located work order in the system , resent signal to reconnect not successful noted information on work order for viewing & resubmitted order. I was told that I would get call when service tech was in route to reconnect service. Well friday around 4:00pn I saw JEA ****************** pull up in my parking lot I amused he was coming to my apt building , to my surprise he pulled in I pulled right back out of the parking lot complex..So I called JEA again explained to Service Rep what I saw, I was told that my work ticket was still open , an perhaps he had another service order for the same Complex..Well never got a call or seen JEA Service Tech. All want is my internet service restored I have an account with JEA for over 6 years.I don't have ************* , So I operate my my home devices TV, Computers, by internet WiFi, I have experienced other instances with JEA, I am not one to really complain, But this is Totally bad services , an a very disturbing inconvenience to my household. I would greatly appreciate your help , an credited for days lost of service via my internet. Because it wasn't a fault of mines. Thank you for viewing my complaint. I hope something can be done.

      I enlisted the services of Jackson Energy Authority when I opened my clinic on July, 19 2021. The Salesman quoted very modest fees for electricity, internet, and 5 phones. The technician came to install internet and phones and had me sign a tablet stating it was to give permission to install equipment. For about 1.5 years now, my bill is always between $500 and $600 a month. My bill at home for electricity is only $120 a month and I spend less time at the clinic. The phone and internet services they are charging me approx. $300 a month and I was quoted less than $100. The monthly invoice does not add up correctly. I am being fraudulently billed and exploited. I never received a paper contract and I did not agree to those terms and services. I would like to terminate internet, phone service, and phone rentals and return that equipment to them. I only want electric service. I can download and fax you an invoice if you'd like one. Contact me for further questions ************

      *************** to complaint ID ********.  ****************** received the contract on 1/29/2021 and signed it on 2/2/21 for a 5 year term. Telecommunications services started on 3/29/2021.  In the contract, it is outlined that the total recurring monthly service cost for internet and telephone would be $276.70 plus tax. He is currently paying $331.24 after tax. This pricing reflects how the contract reads. Because ****************** signed a 5 year contract term, we are unable to terminate any of the telecommunications services until that contract expires.  I have attached a copy of the signed contract for your review as well.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The contract was not presented to me in 14 pt font as stated by state regulations nor did I get to sit down with the contract and read it. The technician had me sign the tablet and no paper copy was left at my desk. Also the technician verbally told me I was free to cancel at any time. I will not honor these unscrupulous business practices. I would have never signed anything with a 5 year term. Period.

      We do not use tablets to sign contracts. All contracts are given by paper copy or through email. ****************** did sign a contract with us on 2/2/21. In the body of the contract under Terms and Conditions, the 5 year term is given. The contract also shows that ********************** telecommunication services would be $267.70 plus tax per month which matches what he is currently billing.

      Theres discrepancies within my monthly bills that I receive from this company. I have tried to sit down and go over this with them and I am not getting anywhere, also they did a news broadcast in my local city with the heatwave that occurred and we did just that (which was put air condition on 78) and somehow even while doing that it did not work actually this bill is extremely higher than my last bills (not even putting air on 78). Let alone its only 4 people living in the house and 2 of them are toddlers so technically 2 adults that are barely here throughout the day due to work and school. Theres an investigation that needs to be done because this is becoming overwhelming.

      In reference to the complaint filed by Mrs. ******************* Jackson Energy Authority did our very best to answer Mrs. ****** concerns.  We can provide usage history and readings to show that all meters are reading correctly. Upon our last conversation with ***************, we advised her that the electric rates for this last month increased which resulted in a higher electric bill. In this case, *************** bills for electricity, gas, water, wastewater, trash pickup and internet.  We also advised *************** that her water usage has been running extremely high and offered to have our serviceman spot the meter to see if there was a leak. From our investigation into Mrs. ****** bill, *** has determined that her meters have been read correctly and her billing is accurate. No adjustments/refunds can be made. The only exception is that if *************** does in fact have a water leak. We do have a courtesy adjustment that we can do on the water once she has the leak repaired.
