    Rented equipment for total of $410.20
    Said equipment was broken prior to use and was unable to be used. Dealer said they were unable to refund money. Money needs to be refunded for un provided services.

    I took my lawnmower to 'Leeper's Hardware' to have it serviced. They told me they couldn't service the mower until an oil leak was fixed, but they didn't have the part in stock. They charged me a $50 dollar diagnosis fee and nothing was done to repair the mower.

    My name is ***** ********* ****** *** **** ******** are the owners of Leeper Hardware. We appreciate and as always are concerned with and want to make sure we are treating fairly our customers. Thank you for making us aware of an individual who we clearly had some miscommunication with. Our hope is to always resolve and look to repair these issues. While we understand mistake or miscommunication can happen, our goal is to review the facts and help each individual the best of our ability. 

    With this said, I reviewed the customers file. It is attached. Upon our team receiving the unit in our shop the customer asked for a basic service. We identified during our diagnostic process that the motor had a leak and service was unable to be performed or a repair/replacement of the dipstick would be required. We do not preform repairs on units that have oil leaks until customer gives approval, thus leading to future issues. In this case, the customer is correct, we did not perform any repairs, but we did have time in the unit assessing and diagnosing the unit prior to the repairs. As stated and signed on the original form by the customer, he acknowledges all units are subject to a minimum charge of no less than $50.00 for diagnosis and applicable shop fees. This is true for this unit. We are happy to provide the customer with part numbers and repairs needed as listed on the back of this form. Equally so, we would gladly take this 50.00 dollars an apply a credit toward the purchase of a new machine/push mower since he is no longer able to use his old machine. I hope this helps and gives clarity. But we would not be able to give a refund based upon a diagnosis being preformed and *** ******** signed our contract stating that he would agree to pay.
