I called a known Locksmith, ***** ****** of Key in Minutes, on 9/24 to remake a car key that was broken the night before 9/23. He came to my house that afternoon and started to work on programming a universal key to get my car started. He wasn't able to get the key programmed after several hours and then said he would have to order a factory key to program it, that it should arrive the following Tuesday. ***** called me the following day saying he believes he knows what the issues is and asked to come back and attempt to program the universal key again. After a couple hours, he said he was going to have to take the instrument cluster home where his other tools are so he can work more efficiently. The next day he said he couldn't get it to work and would wait on the factoey key he originally ordered so he could program it. When the key was suppose to arrive, ***** said he would be by my house to start work again but he never came by. Since my key was broken, the doors couldn't be locked so at some point during 9/27 - 9/29 he put the instrument cluster back in my car without telling me he was coming by or was as my house but now the car has an error code and wasn't put back correctly. He wouldn't return my calls or texts. So I had to get my car towed to the Fairway VW dealership where they have tried everything to program the new key I had bought and to remove the error code. They said whatever the Locksmith, ***** ******, did had damaged the security system and emobilizer to where the amount is going to be $1,197 to fix the damage he caused, not including the new key I bought.
