I submitted a rollover request in February 2024. As of May 2024 my funds were still being held by TAG.
Both my former employer and I have attempted to contact TAG Resources on numerous occasions. Emails went unanswered and phone calls went to voicemail after waiting for a while. The voice said that TAG would call back the next business day, which did not happen.
Finally my funds were released a week ago.
TAG should be ashamed to charge Third Party Administration (TPA) Distribution Fee ******** for this type of service.
I am asking TAG Resources to refund the *** they deducted from my funds due to the delay in transferring funds and our time wasted trying to contact them.Business Response

The company I worked for had a 401k through transamerica. The business closed in January and I still haven't found a job. Desperately in need of money for bills and such, I made a withdrawal request through trans. After 2 weeks with no response, I called them. They said I had to contact a 3rd party (TAG) to inquire about my withdrawal. After multiple calls amd emails with no response, I'm bow contacting you before I seek legal action. The withdrawal process should only take a week max. And after reading multiple reviews of TAG on Google. I'm worried I'll never get my money. Already 2 months behind in rent. I'm writing to urgently address a substantial complaint against TAG Resources regarding their concerning lack of communication and distressing delays in processing withdrawal approvals. This issue has a profound impact on individuals like myself who have transitioned from our former employers. The severity of this problem is further emphasized by the plethora of negative Google Reviews, which shed light on the widespread nature of the issue.
1. Communication Blackout:
Upon my departure from my previous employer, I initiated contact with TAG Resources to facilitate the withdrawal process for my retirement account. Regrettably, my repeated attempts to establish communication, including voicemails and the completion of contact forms, have been met with silence.
2. Unacceptable Withdrawal Delays:
My withdrawal request, which I submitted to TAG Resources, has languished without any discernible progress or communication. While TAG Resources may not have an official timeline for withdrawal processing, the nearly two-week delay since my submission, coupled with the lack of communication, has intensified both financial anxieties and emotional distress.
3. Recurring and Pervasive Issue:
A particularly disconcerting revelation emerged when I was finally able to communicate with a TAG Resources employee. Shockingly, I learned that this issue has persisted for a staggering two years. The multitude of negative Google Reviews aimed at TAG Resources serves as a testament to the systemic nature of these problems. The recurrent grievances, which predominantly revolve around unresponsiveness, paint a bleak picture of the company's practices.
This situation transcends minor inconvenience; it represents a disheartening breach of trust and a formidable obstacle to financial stability and future planning. I was separated from my place of employment August of 2022; in May of 2023 I requested a distribution of my 401k through Transamerica. After waiting
a month, request was denied. Was told paperwork was improperly filled out. Corrected the paperwork and resubmitted the request in June of 2023. Called to check status and was told to contact Tag resources.
Tag resources said my old company was in the process of auditing the account for a plan closeout and to be patient. Spoke with an associate in July of 2023 was told everything was in order, just waiting on a check to clear; if I don't receive the funds in a week to call back. Called again today, August 10, 2023 was told they thought everything was in order, my old company has fulfilled their part, it's something on their end that's wrong and she doesn't know when my funds will be released or what the problem is, she hasn't been made aware of the actual problem.Business Response

My company, 3KD Inc., uses TAG resources to manage our 401K. This complaint is mainly about poor customer service. I have asked to close this account in December 2022 as our business is closing down this year. I have been in contact with an Account Manager, Jamie Sanders, who needed some informatoin, to which I have responded and had to then again, resend it in a few times. It is now July and I cannot get anyone to response to my calls. It appears they are blocking distributions of our 401K holdings to my employees, but I without gettin a respond to my messages, I am making no progress to a resloution. I was informed earlier this week my account manager has changed again but yet no return emails or calls. I need resolution to get this account closed so my employees can be distributed their money and move on form this company. I am attaching the respones I last sent, at their request on May 18th to which I have not been able to get a hold of anyone since that time.Business Response

October of 2019 I left my employer, presto pest control. They then sold the company and transfered our 401k plans to a new firm called Tag Resources. I deal with a over there. When they transfered my information they must have mixed my info with another employee who is still employed. I called them in January of 2020 to close the account as I was no longer employed and was unaware it existed. They tell me there is a social security number mix up. Trans America told me this issue is resolved. Tag Resources give me no specific information on why I can't withdraw and only keeps asking me for my email. At no point will they attempt to verify my information over the phone or make attempts to correct this. We are now in October of 2022 and I still can not withdraw my 401k. I've been making calls frequently to them and it's always the same thing, I need to ask my superior, give me your email so we can email you information. A week later I get calls about how my emails incorrect and they need it again. Beyond frustrated with this company.
