    I ordered a batch of saw quality logs. I specified SYP . He came with a batch of logs but they were virginia pine. Not in. The SYP class. He denied that was what they were. Many of the logs were not of a sawing grade, having too many knots and other defects. He preyed upon my ignorance of those details. I paid a price which should have bought first quality and correct species and I trusted him because he is listed as a BBB member. He is using his ad on Facebook and listing the BBB to sell logs that he cannot sell to professional mills because of their lower qualities
    I am convinced that this is quite deliberate because he is over 60 years old with much experience in logging. I simply wish to warn other of his less than professional methods. I am a novice at buying logs and his ad is designed to attract people like me and take advantage of their inexperience.

    The logs in question were in fact SYP and were specifically the Short Leaf species. Other loads of this same stand were taken to a sawmill in Rutledge . I’m sure the sawyer would attest to the type of pine and quality.  All logs will have some knots which in pine will stay solid.
