We bought a ***** from thompson cat. Initial delivery date was delayed 3 months with little to no explanation. Within the first 3 months we had the ac go out, hydraulic leaks occur, and the front glass was installed improperly by the manufacturer. 1 year later I have had more than 20 warranty repairs, many recurring issues. Currently the machine needs work on the ** system for the 3rd time. The machine has constant issues and when thompson cat assures us things are fixed properly we have the same issue the next week.

      Business Response

      Date: 02/10/2025

The machine in question was purchased in January 2023 and has accumulated ***** hours of use, as validated on January 28, 2025. The customer has experienced some repairs, all of which were covered under warranty. Due to the high number of hours put on the machine, its current value is less than the amount the customer owes.

During fall 2024, Thompson sales representatives and a manager visited the customer's job site, where their attorney was present. The customer expressed concerns about the machine's performance, stating it seemed weak. In response, Thompson provided a larger machine for a free demonstration and offered to pay off the existing balance of the machine the customer owed to ************** if the customer chose to trade for a different machine.Alternatively, Thompson offered to purchase the machine at fair market value, which was $40,000 at the time. The customer did not provide any comments toward reaching an agreement.

The machine's repair history, all covered by warranty, includes:
185 hours: O-ring between sensor and pump
280 hours: AC low pressure switch
      533 hours: Product Link
      554 hours: Replace AC compressor
660 hours: Low hydraulic pressure adjustments
713 hours: Low hydraulic pressure adjustments
837 hours: Coolant leak (top radiator hose) - tightened hose clamp
870 hours: Coolant leak (top radiator hose) - tightened hose clamp
941 hours: Coolant leak (top radiator hose) - tightened hose clamp

None of the above repairs were charged to the customer; all were covered by warranty or service policy. We believe we have provided the same level of care for this customer as we do to all our customers who experience machine issues.
