5/31/2022 a proposal was signed for: Roof Repair on rear of Condo only. Building Innovators were to remove and repair the rear portion of the Condo. Around sky-lights flashing replaced and resealed. *** ******* requested $4,000 to purchase roofing materials to secure a good price while it was low. He said the deposit would also secure a spot on the calendar for the job to be completed within 4 weeks. The roof was scheduled for July 27th and that was a no show or call to explain and again on August 23rd, Sept 7th, 28th and Oct. 3rd. Each time there were excuses and push backs. I tried to be understanding with COVID going on but that came to an end. The job was completed on Oct. 11th. There is approximately 200 sq ft of new shingles on each side and center of the sky lights. That is all that has been replaced. Shingles are $34 a bundle, underlayment $73 plus labor and removal does not come to $4,000. The men came at 10 am and left at 3 pm. I have pictures of the work and text messages of all of the promised job dates and stating the entire backside of the roof would be completed when finished. I have asked for a $2,000 refund and the remaining shingles, underlayment, a copy of the Home Depot invoice for proof of purchase for the material and a copy of his Home Improvement License. Since I have discovered this man was also ******* Remodeling who has been sued for taking advantage of customer and charging an extreme amount for little work. I have tried to reason with the man but he has given me no choice but to file this compliant. I am a single senior woman who trusted this company to do the job that was paid for. I feel that I have been taken advantage of and his actions are certainly not fair or ethical.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/09/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 21, 2022/11/29) */ ***Document Attached*** ***** **** signed a contract with me after discussing what repairs would be made thoroughly by Building Innovators. Due to the extreme amount of work for contractors at this time, it was discussed with Ms. **** several times that there would be delays and each time she acknowledged each change of plans and was okay with the schedule changes. Ms. **** signed a contract for the repairs, (Contract attached), stating that we would repair the roof where repairs were needed on the rear of the condo ONLY. At this time, she was to put the $2500 down and pay the amount of $1500 at the end of the contract. Ms. **** watched us repair the roof, which included taking off the old roofing , repair of the damage, replacement of the roofing shingles, seal the flashing and seal etc., where specified on the contract ONLY. Ms. **** signed the contract knowing the cost and the work that was to be completed. Once we completed the work, Ms. **** then decided to start harassing me and my friends outside of my business stating she wanted some of her money back. After sending harassing and threatening text to me, she decided to contact the BBB for no reason. Keep in mind, this was after the signed agreement and work was complete. I have not taken advantage of Ms. **** and for her to introduce another company that may or many not be linked to myself or anyone else is absurd and uncalled for. Her job was completed as stated on the contract and she is sleeping sound with no needed roof repairs. I have offered her her shingles and in no way took advantage of Ms. ****. Please see the attached photos and contract for proof. At this point, Ms. **** is harassing my company and committing defamation of character toward me and my workers. Consumer Response /* (3000, 23, 2022/11/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Filing a complaint is not harassment and its not against his crew. I paid $4,000 upfront, which according to the TN Business License Law is a violation for Building or Home Improvement contractors. I have asked for a copy of the Building Innovations license, copy of Home Depot invoice for materials, and the shingles left over. As of today, received none of these items. I have every text message between the 2 of us and not one time was I threating. I did ask for my money back a couple of times, if he could not give me a specific date to get the job done. I didn't watch anything or talk to anyone on Oct. 11, I wasn't even on site. *** *** *** Video is available to watch. I do not want other people to be taken advantage of by this company's lack integrity. Thank you for you help in resolving this matter.
