    I walked into the family dollar store to purchase some ********* shells. There was a sign on the shelf under the shells informing customers that the shells were on sale for $2.50. However, as I walked to the checkout line, I opened the box to check to see if the shells were broken or not. I did not open the plastic that is protecting the shells inside the box. The cashier scanned my items for checkout. After paying for the items, I noticed on the receipt that the I was charged $3.65 for the shells instead of the $2.50 that was on the sign for the special underneath the tacos on the shelf. When I informed one of the workers in the store, she went back to the shelf and removed the sign. She said that the sign was old. I requested that since the sign was up, they should still honor the price of $2.50. She said that this store doesn't work like that. I demanded to take a a picture of the sign. After that I requested a refund for the items I purchased since the store associate and the supervisor on duty were both refusing to honor the special sale price that was on the sign under the taco shells. The supervisor gentleman on duty refused to even give me a refund for the shells. He said would not be able to do it because the product was opened. I explained to him that the box was opened but not the actual product because I did not open the actual plastic protecting the shells. I also informed him that one of the store supervisors had allowed me many times to open the taco shells box to check because many of their boxes of taco shells (all brands) are known to be broken at their store. This store has told many customers that their policy is that they do not offer any refunds or exchanges at all for any products in their store if the item is bought, opened, and brought back. I have informed them that the policy on Family Dollar's website does not say that anywhere on the website.
