    On Friday March 31, 2023 I visited the BBB site looking for Plumber to repair a toilet I selected from the site Jose Reyes Construction, made contact and scheduled an appt for 4 pm 3/31/23. The person who came was not a certified plumber. He called **** and had him on facetime as he showed him the inside of the tank. I asked if he was certified. He acted as if he did not understand the question and did not answer. I asked **** over facetime was this person certified. He did not answer the question but instead said he would be at my house in about 20 mins. When he came I asked if the person he sent was certified. He said he did not have to be certified. I asked **** if he is a certified plumber. He responded "yes and I'm a GC" . The work and the parts used were not what should have been used for the toilet. I went to the restroom at 2 am and found the toilet room flooded. If I had slept through the night the entire bedroom ensuite could have flooded. I called another plumber to correct the mess **** created. **** had broken a part and put it back in to the tank as if it had not been broken. I didn't realize that was why the flushed handle was higher than is normally is. I asked why. His response was it was just new and tight. Rather than sitting at 9 o'clock it was at 11. I called **** on Saturday 4/1/23 to advise of the flooding situation. He said he was working and could come around 4 pm. He also said everything was worn out and needed to be fixed. There are only so many parts in a tank. He had already replaced or broken most of the parts in the tank. He also removed the tank and did not properly secure it along with using the wrong gasket between the tank and the bowl, according to the plumber who corrected the issue. I'm not sure if he is a certified plumber. He was paid $200 cash. I also asked him for a receipt for payment. He said he did not have a receipt book but would have his wife send it the next day. I have not received it

    Good afternoon, The bathroom was totally destroyed, the ideal thing was to replace the entire toilet, but she refused, apparently she didn't want to spend. I did everything possible to repair with your destroyed parts, I have no problem refunding your money. I am a professional person in my work, I have never had problems and less for a minimum amount. but she should be more honest and state that she did not want to replace pieces in very poor condition with new ones. Regarding the invoice, I assume my responsibility, because perhaps it was misplaced and not sent, for that reason I apologize. You can tell him that I will refund his money of $200.00 but if there was a flood in his house, it was because he did not allow me to change parts that were totally in poor condition, and he did not want to pay for new ones.

    I am rejecting this response because: His response is dishonest.  A business who blames the  home owner for their *************** rather than correcting the issue compounds the problem. The plumber who corrected his work had to correct everything he messed up.  I did not need a new toilet. I needed a Certified plumber who knew how to correct the initial  issue.   My toilet has been repaired and is working as it should. I do agree he needs to refund the payment he received because he didn't earn it.  He damaged my home and to add insult to injury  clearly has decided to not take responsibility for his actions.
