On Dec 28, 2024, Autozone employees replaced a car battery that was under warranty. The price of the battery was 217. While they were replacing the battery, they damaged the positive terminal. It is cracked. They also did not install the battery properly. I did not know about the cracked terminal until I went to start my car and it wouldnt start. Someone stopped to help me and said the terminal was loose. I went to the Autozone yesterday around 1:00 1/12. One of the employees came out and tried to tighten it and then went back into store. She sent another employee out and he told me it was cracked and I would need to go to salvage yard or a dealership to get the part and fix it even though, they installed the battery and damaged the terminal. It is the positive side that is damaged but I am submitting pictures of both sides. I am not sure where to take it to get it fixed and scared to drive it. I am calling repair shops for help. I called the manager and explained to her that her employees broke the terminal and I needed help fixing it. She told me that they didnt break it. I had no proof that they broke it. She was extremely rude. I asked to speak to store manager and she told me no. I asked for the corporate number and she told me to ****** it. I have reached out to corporate with no response. I just want the terminal fixed.

I have spoken to Mrs. ***** since her complaint was sent to the BBB.  I have apologized for the inconvenience and the manner in which the situation was handled.  Mrs. ***** has had the battery terminal end repaired. I have offered to pay for the repair and Mrs. ***** said that she didn't need that.  This particular type of battery cable end is very subjective to battery terminal corrosion that causes the terminal to split.  The repair shop explained this to Mrs. ***** as well.  This vehicle is a 2010 ******* ****** and time the battery terminal end was already corroded.  We have had a cordial conversion and the situation has been resolved.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I agree with the statement made by AutoZone. The Regional Manager was extremely nice. I had the part fixed last Tuesday and the manager explained to me how the part could break due to corrosion and age. I was extremely appreciative that the Regional Manager reached out to me multiple times to make sure everything was okay. He did offer to help fix the problem but I do not feel that is fair to the company. Older cars will have issues that need to be fixed. I just needed someone to explain to me why the part broke. I was more upset about the Assistant Manager treated me. As a single mom working 2 jobs having a vehicle is imperative and when stuff breaks down it scares me. I had to take work on Tuesday to get it fixed. It is done. I have no further complaints. The Regional Manager was extremely nice and understanding. Thank you.

      Sincerely,

*********************** first approached me at the end of last month about his issue with the water pump. I asked the customer for the water pump to start the claim process. He stated that his attorney would not let him leave the pump. I stated that I understood.  I let ************ know that I was more than willing to assist him, and that I needed the part to start the claim process. The customer left the building and got in his other vehicle. I reached out to ***** at that same time. His statement to the BBB is not factual. I did everything within my power to facilitate his needs the first time he came in. At that time he declined and left. And F.Y.I., I am also a disabled Army Gulf War Veteran.
He did return on 5/8/2023 and brought the water pump in.At that time I was able to start the claims process for ************. ***** was notified with the claim number the same day.

      Thank you,
