I have been going to Tristate OBGYN for about four years now and have had the same insurance provider the entire duration. As of this year they keep overcharging me for visits and are choosing not to refund me for the overcharge even those my insurance provider lets them know every time and theyre submitting the claims inaccurately. I have tried to speak with whoever is in charge of this particular matter at the practice but my messages go unanswered with no refunds issued.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/19/2024

Dear BBB of The Mid-South, Inc:
We are writing in response to the above referenced claimant, Herneeshia Ball.
************ had an appointment on 01/22/2024. During check in, our front desk team made an estimated payment required based on her insurance to be $75.
Based on her insurance plan, she has a co-payment of $30 and a co-insurance of 20%. ************ agreed and pay $75.
When her account was reconciled after insurance payment, She had a credit of $45. Which she was aware of doing her next appointment and no payment was collected from her.
************ had another Doctors appointment at TRISTATE and her credit was applied to that visit. No payment was again collected from her that day . A copayment of $30 was assigned to her on her third visit based on her insurance.
This was all explained to her.
Her last claim payment from her insurance has left her a balance of $14.22.
Her current credit is $14.22. This credit will be issued to her today.

During the initial visit in January, I explained to the front desk of my copay which has never been $75. Myself and a claims representative from ***** both tried to explain the benefits to her but she wouldnt take the phone and I asked for the name and phone number of whoever could fix the issue but was told they would have to reach out to me. This was not done and I had to contact them. The next time I got a response the next appointment was two days away so of course the credit was applied. That same day I asked about the refund and was told the same thing mentioned above. Cigna processed that claim as well and I again reached out and was simply told someone would contact me. Ive only received a response today once I reviewed you alls message. All that being stated, yes their outcome is suitable for me.
