I took my car up to their shop and my car was working and running just fine. Had a little transmission problems when I called and ask about my car they kept on giving me to run around for three weeks and just yesterday I called and they told me they cannot get my car started and it need to be moved off of a property when I took my car up there. My car was working just perfectly fine just with the transmission problems now theyre saying that they cannot get my car started. They try everything but when I took my car up there, it was running just fine. The only code I had on my car was for the transmission. And now theyre saying that my car would not start and they do not know whats wrong with it but when I took my car up there, it started. I had my car parked in my driveway for six weeks, and I went out there and drove it and started up every day with no problem but now they cannot get my car to start.Business Response

Dear Better Business Bureau and Mr. *************** you for providing us the opportunity to address Mr. ****** concerns about his experience with our shop.
Mr. ***** first visited us on August 8, 2024, with transmission issues. After completing a thorough diagnosis, we advised him that his vehicle required a transmission replacement. At that time, Mr. ***** chose to retrieve his vehicle and took it to another shop, where only minor repairs were performed.
In November 2024, Mr. ***** returned to us with the same unresolved transmission complaints. Upon inspection, we found that the transmission was severely contaminated with water and antifreeze, a significant issue that required comprehensive repairs. Unfortunately, during our diagnostic process, the vehicle lost power completely, and we were unable to restart it, which meant we could not conduct a test drive or further evaluate the issue.
We shared these findings with Mr. ***** and provided a detailed estimate for a full transmission rebuild, which would have resolved the problems and restored the vehicles performance. However, Mr. ***** declined our professional recommendations and instead insisted on a quick, low-cost fixan approach we explained would not adequately address the vehicles underlying issues.
Regrettably, during our subsequent discussions, Mr. ***** became verbally abusive, threatening our store manager and owner with physical violence and using offensive, vulgar, and racial language. Despite this behavior, we did not charge Mr. ***** for the diagnostic work or any attempted repairs.
Due to his threats and hostility, we informed Mr. ***** that he needed to promptly remove his vehicle from our premises.
At AAMCO Transmissions, we take pride in delivering honest, high-quality service to all customers. While we regret that Mr. ***** was unhappy with the situation, his behavior and refusal to pursue the necessary repairs made it impossible to reach a productive resolution. We stand by our diagnosis and professional recommendations and wish Mr. ***** success in addressing his vehicles issues with another service provider.
Sincerely,
******* B. *****

On 7/12/2024 my car was towed to this business for diagnosis. On 7/15/2024 I was informed that my transmission was faulty. I was told that they could rebuild the transmission or I could get a new one. I was not told that the new transmission was actually a reman. On 7/19/2024, my daughter went to pay and retrieve the vehicle because I was out of town. On 8/15/2024, I was getting my brakes replaced on the vehicle and was told that I was missing a panel in the tire well. The missing panel belongs between the tire and the engine. I called the business and was told to bring it back to in. When I got there, they (an employee, the manager, and the owner) told me that it was missing when I brought it in and kept saying that my car was wrecked and that is what happened to the panel. This is a huge panel and would have been noticeable if lost during an accident or while driving. If it was indeed missing when it arrived at the facility, why didn't they say something about it? They made sure to tell be about the bumper being loose and the rear passenger panel being dented. It was not missing before I brought it to this establishment. The owner said he would order the part and call me when they came in. As of today, I have not heard from the owner or any other worker at this business. My engine is exposed, and I am asking for them to replace what they took off and discarded. I also believe my total price included the core. Since they kept my old transmission and returned it for the core charge, that should have been deducted as well. The going rate for an OEM ****** reman transmission is $2300 - $2800 without the core. The core charge is $800 - $1000. I was charged $3738.58 for my transmission.Business Response

Dear Sirs, She expressed the missing plastic shield was on Her car when it arrived at Our shop, so We ordered a new replacement from ****** and She has been notified it is here & We are simply waiting for Her to return in order for Us to install it at no charge. We would never intend to mislead any of Our customers to this fact as They are the only source We use & at the price We quote & supply to Our customers. Thank You for Your help in resolving this matter. Sincerely, ****** Stone

I am rejecting this response because:The wrong part was ordered and replaced, as demonstrated in photos ***** and *****. Photo ***** is the opposite (passenger) side of the vehicle. As you can see the correct part covers the entire inside of the tirewell, shielding all of the mechanical parts including the engine. I would like for the correct part to be ordered and replaced.
Sincerely,

We sold this ****** transmission on an exchange basis which means there is no extra charge due for the old transmission (the core). Ms. **** was advised of the retail cost of the replacement transmission, along with all the other charges and authorized the total repair before any parts were ordered & before any work had begun on Her car. We have installed the new splash shield that was missing on Her car on September 17 at no charge. Thank You, ****** Stone (Owner)Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I was not told about an exchange or core. I was only given a quoted price after informing me that a rebuild would not provide me that much of a savings. As a matter of fact, I wasnt told that my transmission would be a reman. I was under the assumption I was receiving a brand-new transmission with a warranty from ******, not a reman with a 1 year limited warranty. After some researching,I became aware of the core. I believe I was taken advantage of because I am a woman.**** knew what was discussed and knows I did not receive what we discussed. He should have made sure I was fully aware of what I was receiving, a remanufactured transmission. That is bad business to grossly deceive your customers.Sincerely,

Dear BBB Representative,
I would like to clarify that when a customer needs a ********************** rebuild or replacement in any 2006 and later ****** Altima, We only offer a new or remanufactured Genuine ****** Transmission as a replacement. We never offer to rebuild or attempt to rebuild the customer's original **********************. When Ms. ****** 2015 ****** Altima was brought in to *********** She was offered a Genuine ****** replacement Transmission Assembly and We emailed Her the estimate of repairs that clearly shows it is a Factory Certified Remanufactured Transmission with a full 12 Months or ****** miles warranty. She approved all of the repairs only after reviewing Our original estimate. I have enclosed a copy of that estimate along with the original E-Mail **** sent to Her for Her approval on July 15, 2024. To My knowledge, ****** sells New Transmission replacements until Their supply runs out and only offer the direct replacement as a Genuine ****** Remanufactured Transmission Assembly. I am truly sorry for any confusion this may have caused. Sincerely, ****** *. Stone (Owner)

I am rejecting this response because:
I did not receive an email from **** on 7/15/2024, frankly I have never received an email from **** at all. What you have attached is the invoice that was given at pickup, it is what I initially included with my complaint.**** called me on 7/15/2024 and initially told me I would need a new transmission. He also stated that he did not recommend rebuilding and offered me a new transmission for approximately $5800. He also told me that it would have a 5 year warranty. I gave verbal permission to order the transmission and start the repairs during this phone call. Please produce the original email **** sent me as it was not included with your response. I have included my phone records highlighting the 3 phone calls that transpired between **** and myself.
7/11/2024 Initial contact. I inquired when I could bring it in to be checked out
7/15/2024 **** called me to tell me what was needed
7/18/2024 **** called to inform me that my vehicle was ready
7/19/2024 My daughter brought my credit card to your facility and paid for the repairs. This is the date printed on the invoice you said emailed to me on 7/15/2024.
I was misled by your office manager as to what I was receiving and I grossly overpaid for a rebuilt transmission when I was led to believe I was receiving a new one.Sincerely,
