Bought an engine from J&K April of ***************************************** ******** stole. What I ordered was not what I received and have been waiting two months for a response to the email I sent J&K. Additionally, they failed to send the injector hold downs, and made no mention that they used different cylinder heads(they told my mechanic they used something different to finish the build, but will not specify what they used. The missing injector hold downs cost me an additional $1600 which they seemingly refuse to refund. The program they sent for the engine also seems to be an issue, as it appears to be for an engine at sea level. Im at *****, so ongoing issues and again, zero response to my email from December 24. I see numerous complaints about this company online, which seem to have been blocked or hidden previously. So, wouldnt be surprised if they **** off the wrong person in the near future. These people have no business being in business, and I find it hard to believe theyre rated A+ by the BBB. Which only leads to me question the validity of the BBB. But I believe Im entitled to the 1600$ expenditures to correct the injector issue. And beyond that I hope they **** off the wrong person and are dealt with accordingly.Business Response

Let me start by saying that we are sorry for what Mr. ****** is going through. His remarks about J&K and the BBB will be taken seriously and I will shed some light on what really happened.
We entered into an agreement on March 13th 2024, we built and shipped the engine on 5/23 of 2024.
We shipped it with many parts and dropped shipped some as well. Mr. ****** stated he didn't get what he ordered, that is not true. What he received is everything on his invoice, never a mention of this allegation was ever mentioned until now. When we build any of our almost ***** engines, we will send injector hold downs when we use either 20mm or 18mm heads with our 6 liters. It does not have any effect on the performance of the 6 liter engine when we utilize either hold downs, no problem what so ever. Mr. ****** claims that we did not send the injector hold downs, we have them checked off our production sheet that we DID send them. After his installer had an issue with an injector we shipped to them, it was sent off to the manufacturer ultimately to find out it was good and that the installer realized from the report that the injector was not properly installed. We think that they just missed the hold downs we sent, without dispute, we sent the hold down again. After shipping thousands over the years we could of missed putting them in the shipment but we still feel as if we did. Another bit of information about installing injectors. When you install them with the wrong hold downs, they do not go in smoothly and an experienced installer should of known that and we could of avoided this entire situation. We are human so sometimes things happen to fast.
We have had communication issues with Mr. ****** not responding to emails and voice mails along this process. We could of been better with communication as well. He claims we have complaints, just check us out thoroughly to find the truth. And to make the statement about our rating with the BBB as suspect! I really don't need to respond to that.
we never claimed we would not assist in the with the bill from his installer. I called and emailed him with no yesterday to try and rectify this but again no response.
again we are sorry for where we are. If he Mr. ****** would reach out, I would be happy to help.

In *uly of 2022 I experienced engine failure in my 2003 **** F350. I was left to search for a replacement engine. After looking on the internet and checking forums I came across J&K Engines. After reading the reviews and speaking with the owner ****, the * from *&K, I felt comfortable deciding to purchase an engine from them to get my truck on the road. My father and I purchased the 6.0 Powerstroke which came out to $6,045 and paid approximately $6,000 to install the engine at Colonial **** of *******, **.. After saving some money, the engine was ordered around April of ********************* late *uly after it was received. On August 1, 2023, approximately 3 days after the truck was in my possession, I was traveling on I-691 in ******* when I experienced a loss of power and the truck began to overheat. I pulled over into the shoulder and called a tow truck from Modzelewskis Towing and Recovery to transport the vehicle back to Colonial **** of *******, about 45 miles. After the truck was inspected by the diesel technicians at ************* it was determined the bottom end failed. I had only put about 300 miles on the truck at this point in time. After going back and forth with **** from J & K engines he agreed to send me another engine under warranty. He stated that he would consider assisting with at least part of the labor. After speaking with the techs at **** they stated that some of the parts installed on the replacement engine would not be reusable due to large amounts of oil that had contaminated them. I was advised that it would cost me roughly $10,000 to install this ********* late *une, Colonial **** received the 2nd engine from * and K engines. The installation was completed on a Friday. The technician stated the truck ran well. When the technician returned to work on Monday he took my truck for the final road test. Less than 15 miles into the road test, the truck began making loud and unpleasant noises. It was determined that the engine failed againBusiness Response

We shipped a new long block on 6/14 2023. On 8/27 we were notified of possible issues so we requested a detailed account of what has transpired. We received the information and was explained that the engine had loss of power while driving and that temperature gauge indicating high engine temps. The tech at the garage stated it had possible bottom end issues. Without receiving the engine in question, we sent a new long block with parts needed to get our customer back on the road. The engine went 300/800 miles, there was supposed to be a oil change at 100 miles then at a 1000 miles but we were unable to verify. New engine installed in June of 24 because it took that long for the dealership to install. Our warranty states that we do not pay labor outside our shop, but in certain instances we make exceptions. After speaking with his father about labor we waited for the install to be done then we would revisit the cost. The replacement engine was installed on a Friday, the tech said it was running well, then went on another road test and it began to make noises again. The tech determined that the engine failed again. Pretty amazing to us because after approximately ***** engines shipped with a great track record of successful builds, it was quite suspect of what might be happening in the install process. Also all this was done before we inspected any of the engines in question. So the last thing we did was on 10/2/24 we shipped a 3rd engine and that was the last we heard until this complaint to the BBB. We are sorry for what has happened, we did take responsibility and sent a total of 3 engines to rectify a situation. We did not turn our back and we did the right thing with the replacements without knowing the real cause of the issues. If our customer would like to call me, we will be glad to have a cordial conversation. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
