I recently had a disappointing experience with The Barrett Group and feel compelled to share my experience. I paid $13,800 for their career services, intending to transition from the wine and spirits industry to the consumer packaged goods (***) sector, focusing on cannabis. Despite being informed that this niche transition required a higher fee, I trusted their promise of effective career change assistance.Unfortunately, the services provided did not meet my expectations or the promises made. Despite my extensive experience in the **suite and holding a Master's Degree from The ************************************, the guidance and support I received were insufficient and often irrelevant. A senior coach even suggested I consider becoming a substitute teacher, which was entirely disconnected from my professional background and aspirations. My initial coach lacked commitment, leaving me feeling unsupported. Though my subsequent coach was more engaged, this required a complete overhaul of my resume, LinkedIn profile, and overall strategy, highlighting flaws in the initial approach. Networking opportunities yielded minimal results, with unresponsive contacts and ineffective recruiter networking efforts. Additionally, the contact information provided through PMAR requests was often inaccurate.A significant portion of the campaign was incomplete, with many crucial sectors missing. This omission severely hindered my ability to explore opportunities within the *** sector, particularly in the cannabis niche. Despite escalating my concerns to a senior executive, whose initial engagement gave me hope, the resume rewrite she provided was unimpressive. Her follow-up was lacking, leaving me feeling neglected.I have been using The Barrett Group's services since May 3, 2020, with very little to no success. Given these experiences, I believe a refund of the $13,800 fee is fair and reasonable. I hope The Barrett Group will address this matter promptly and amicably.
