    ?? **DO NOT RECOMMEND!** ??
I took my car to Pep Boys to get repaired after noticing a squeaky steering wheel. After their inspection, they found several other issues and quoted me $2,400 for repairs. They assured me they had completed their 40-point inspection and everything else looked good.
When I checked out, they offered me 10% off and strongly encouraged me to leave a 5-star review. They were extremely pushy about it—mentioning the review multiple times and even walking us over to a QR code so we could leave it right then. I didn’t feel comfortable with the pressure, but I trusted their work and left feeling hopeful.
Fast forward two days later…I was driving on the interstate with my son when my car started violently lurching back and forth. A “Service Stabilitrack” warning came on, and I immediately called Pep Boys. They towed the car back to their shop (free of charge, which I appreciated), but after keeping it for some time, they said they couldn’t figure out what was wrong and sent it back to me.
Unfortunately, this issue has continued every time I drive over 50 mph. We took it back in again, and they told us, “Sometimes when you do a really good job fixing a car, more issues can develop as a result.” Seriously?? Now they’re saying the problem is too severe for them to handle, and I need to take it to a transmission specialist.
I trusted them with my car and spent $2,400—only for my car to be significantly worse than before. It was drivable when I brought it in, and now I don’t feel safe driving it at all, especially with my son in the car.
Between the pushy tactics for a 5-star review and the lack of accountability for the current condition of my vehicle, I’m beyond disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this shop. If you value your safety and your wallet, go elsewhere!
