I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
**** **** January 31 , November 12th , November 20th , December 7th , January 14th and on each call they told me the battery was on back order. I found it unusual that an item they sold would be on back order for 3 months. Well today February 2nd , I called yet again and the man on the phone told me that there was no order placed. They changed there story completely , now they are telling me that the battery is 100% fine , they have no clue who told me it was bad in the first place and that my only option is to come and pick up the original battery! The amount of the battery was $375.33 The nature of the dispute: I want to know why I was told over and over for months that the new battery was ordered , but on back order, and why they are changing there story all around today. Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem...... Absolutely no they have not. Not only did they not try to resolve the problem they have been lieing for the past three months.Business Response

Mr. **** came in on 11/17/2024 and spoke to ***** about wanting a refund for his battery he purchased on 01/31/2024. *** informed him that our return policy is 14 days as it states that on the receipt. Mr. **** then explained he purchased the battery back in January and it had been sitting in his shop since Jan. *** asked if anything was wrong with the battery and Mr. **** stated that it would not hold a charge. He was asked if he had charged the battery and he said no that he had purchased another battery for the vehicle and never used the one he bought from us. When the battery was tested in front of him it was at 3.4v and 36CCA. ***** explained (as it states in our warranty policy) that due to the battery not being properly maintained and below 10v it is considered neglect and voids the warranty, but that we can keep it for 24 hours up to 2 business days and try to bring the battery back to service. He continued to ask about the refund and she explained that it was 9 months past the return policy of 14 days. He stated he did not need the battery and left it on the counter and walked out of the store. We did charge the battery and it came back to *****v and 920CCA. We have maintained the battery since 11/17/2024 and Mr. **** has not come in to pick it up. When ***** spoke to him again on 02/02/2025 he was informed that the battery was good and ready to be picked up he said he would come in on the 8th and he has failed to do so.
If Mr. **** had come in within the return policy time frame or possibly even 3 weeks after purchase and the battery had not been used we may have been able to give him a refund, unfortunately he waited 9 months and 2 weeks. Mr. **** mentioned on the 2nd to ***** that someone told him the battery was on back order. *** apologized for any communication that may have happened but his battery was good and ready to be picked up. I apologize for any miscommunications from other employees. That being said it was a explained to him when he dropped the battery off in November that we could not honor the warranty due to the state of charge in the battery and it was too far out of the return policy for a refund. Again, I apologize for any miscommunication on our part.
I have attached a copy of Mr. ***** purchase receipt with the purchase date and at the bottom it explains our return and warranty policy.

I am responding to the BBB E-Mail I received on 2.26 , this E-Mail wants clarification from the consumer.
I purchased a battery from BatteriesPlus #******************** on 1/31/2024. The battery I purchased had a FULL WARRANTY UNTILL 1/31/2028 and this warranty is also listed on the receipt I was given. After the purchase less than a year later this batter would not hold a charge and was leaving the vehicle dead over and over. I took the battery out of the vehicle and put it on a bench charger and reinstalled it in the vehicle. The battery would crank the engine over for about 2 - 3 seconds and then it would be completely flat once again. The battery as I said was less than a year old , so I contacted the Murfreesboro BatteriesPlus to see what could be done. The gentleman on the phone told me I was to bring the battery in and they would have to test the battery to see if it was....and I quote " If it is indeed a bad battery or if it was neglect of the owner" by a gentleman on the phone, I agreed and I drove the two hour round trip to deliver the battery back to them. When I arrived at the store I was told I could not receive my money back , that I could only get a replacement battery.I was not told this over the phone! After THERE OWN testing I was contacted and told , once again it was the same gentleman (over the phone) that the battery was indeed bad and was not due to neglect on my part! This all was in November on 2024! They said they would call me when the battery came in. I never heard from them even one time...so I called them on..... January 31 , and they told me over the phone that my new battery was on back order. I called again on November 12th , and I was told my new battery was on back order. I called again on November 20th , and I was told my new battery was on back order. I called again on December 7th , and I was told my new battery was on back order. I called again on January 14th and I was told my new battery was on back order. I found it unusual that an item they sold would be on back order for 3 months. Well on February 2nd , I called yet again and the gentleman on the phone told me that there was no order placed. He did not have any further information for me, and said the store would call me back later that day. I did receive a call several hours later this time it was a female on the phone how was very very rude . She was very short and smart on the phone , and continuously raised her voice to talk over me when I was trying to talk to her and ask questions. The main question I wanted to ask was why I was told over and over for over three months that the new battery was on back order, when come to find out it was not.I eventually got a word or two in and asked this. She then told me that it was simply some kind of mix up. Then she told me that she can not warranty the battery because it is fine and not defective. They changed there story completely. I also asked why this gentleman called me and told me it was indeed defective. She then told me conveniently that they do not have a clue who told me it was bad in the first place and that my only option is to come and pick up the original battery. I tested the battery here in my shop with two separate battery testers : The ******* **-705 and the *** 3181.With these two testers I can test every aspect of the battery and put loads on the battery...The tester itself told me it was a dead battery and needed replacing. Then they did there own testing of whatever kind and called me to tell me it was bad. The woman on the phone told me that I should have not left the battery sitting in my shop for months before calling them. This is a straight out and out lie! Sorry to be rude.. That battery would not hold a charge after several attempts to charge it. When I took it out of the vehicle for the last time it sat on my work bench in the shop for exactly 8 days before it was in there hands. I do not know ware she got this idea from , like I said she was extra rude on the phone and would continuously talk over me when I tried to talk and tell her the facts.
So in conclusion or in short:
Why did they tell me the battery was on back order for over three months every time I called...They say it was a mix up or sorry for the confusion How can you tell someone over and over for months and then just say Oh sorry for the confusion
Why did they test it and then call me to tell me it was indeed a bad battery , then blow me off for three months , only to change they story all around and then tell me my battery has been sitting g at there store the whole time. The woman on the phone on Feb 2 told me that the battery was just fine and was putting out What she thought was 900 AMPs She thought. This is completely contrary to there first story. The amount of the battery was $375.33 Not including the time I had to take off from work to drive to and from the BatterysPlus shop in ************. I am not accepting the bad battery that I tested AND they tested out to be bad. Also on a side note, I very much do not appreciate the woman on the phone talking down to me on how to take care of a battery properly! I have been working on vehicles for so many years and know good and well how to take care of a battery. As I said it sat out for 8 days only!Customer Answer

Dear BBB
I do not know what kind of scam /shady practices this woman at BatteryPlus is trying to pull , but I am not going to just back down and let her be rude and bully me. I am not a mean person that tries to do this sort of thing to get free products or what have you. I been working on vehicles probably longer than she has even been alive to tell the truth. I know what my machines told me and I know it would not hold a charge in that vehicle. I am not taking that defective battery back , especially after the lies and completely unprofessional behavior on the phone call. The whole thing is just frustrating , and I am sure the businesses gets off in situations like this and the consumer gets brushed aside. But I tell you it was odd from the start...Telling me the new battery was ordered....then month after month I was told it was on back order , then all the sudden they change the whole story...it was not ordered, my battery is now miraculously fine and not defective, they accuses me of letting the battery sit around for months...they do not know who called me...it all is just crazy!Business Response

As I stated in my previous response, we greatly apologize for any miscommunication from another employee due to there being another battery that we were waiting on for another customer. Mr. **** was informed when he brought the battery in of the warranty policy. He stated that the battery had sat in the shop on the floor since the date of purchase. It was explained at that time due to the voltage on neglect of the battery and lack of charging that the warranty was voided. However we were able to charge the battery and it came back to a full charge for use. Mr. **** was informed it was ready to be picked up and has failed to do so. The battery was purchased on 1/31/2024 and brought in by Mr. **** on 11/17/2024 it is far past the 14 day return policy. I included all of the documents in my previous response. Again we apologize for any miscommunication, we have reached out to Mr. **** about picking up the battery and he has still failed to do so. There is no warranty as the battery is not faulty and there is no refund as I stated it is well out of the 14 day return policy.
