      I was erroneously classified as an out-of-state student and charged out of state tuition rates. I realized this on January 6 at the end of my 1st term (Fall 2023) and before the beginning of the next term (spring 2024) and emailed the university. They reimbursed me for one term overcharge but refuse to reimburse me for the other term overcharge. They have cited different reasons including it is too late to fix it (and they will be keeping my money), to it is my fault because I should have realized their mistake sooner, to it is my mistake because I used my passport instead of my drivers license. I looked at my FAFSA and I used my TN driver license info. I cannot pull up the **** application and I have asked for screenshots showing where I have put wrong info there but they have not provided me with that.I want my money credited at this point to my school tuition account. I just paid another $6K in summer tuition and I have one more term, in the Fall 2024 before I graduate. I just received another email in error yesterday with a new problem that they say is fixed and wont affect my financial aid but there is an error in my account saying their are some unsatisfied requirements. I hope this is not a repeat of the first scenario that I am still fighting and trying to get my money back for. I'm terrified this error will mess up my financial aid application for the fall and I will have to fight to get the error corrected. They are not looking out for student interests. They are looking out for their bottom line.

      MTSU is in receipt of this Complaint. I communicated with Mr. ********* in early July advising him that, because the Complaint deals with confidential student records, federal privacy laws prohibit us from responding to the BBB without written consent from the student. I provided a draft release (attached) for Mr. ********* to provide to the student to permit me to provide that information. To date, I have not received a signed release form back from the student or from the BBB.

      We continue to receive notifications from the BBB that our response to the Complaint is delinquent,which isnt entirely accurate since we have not received the signed release form.Again, until I receive the form, I cannot respond to the Complaint.

      At your earliest convenience,can you please: (1) provide me a signed copy of the attached Generic FERPA release, signed by the Complainant, which will allow me to respond to the Complaint; (2) provide me the contact information for the individual at the BBB that is in charge of this complaint (other than my initial email, I have not been able to reach Mr. *********** and (3) list my name as the contact person for MTSU since I will be providing the response to the Complaint.

      Regarding your message to MTSU dated August 7, 2024: You sent the blank release from to MTSU in error. The blank release form needs to be sent to the consumer for her signature and then a signed copy provided to me once she has signed. Once I receive a copy of the release that has been signed by the consumer, we can provide you her confidential student record information in response to her complaint.
