I got a panicked call from my 17 year old daughter while I was at work today, 2/14/25, to find out that this company towed my minor daughters vehicle from our apartments in the middle of the night because she made a common teenage mistake and forgot to put her parking pass back on her car. No warning, no type of 24 hour notice, no attempts made to contact the owner of the car before just towing it at random. It's not like her car didn't belong there, we pay over $2000 a month in rent to live there, so this business could have been a little understanding to a teenagers mistake, she was in tears speaking to the owner/manager before I had the chance to call them myself as her adult parent, and asked to at least discount the price of her mistake and not make her spend every last dime in her account. Is it even allowed to do business with a minor child in this capacity? Did you ask her for proof of ownership? NO! Did you ask if she was accompanied by an adult to get any kind of signatures or copies of invoices? Again, NO! She came to pickup her car and the manager/owner told her $200 cash only. She said that she came to pay with her card (because what 17 year old kid is walking around with that much cash?) and then he proceeds to milk my kid for $10 more to pay with her card. $210.00 total was paid by a crying, vulnerable, confused 17 year old minor, with no empathy or understanding reciprocated from the owner/manager that decided to take part in this transaction. Heaven forbid that a business we just handed over $210 to would expect the "consumer" want proof of said charge....instead, he preferred cash only to be paid to him from a minor child, to take back a car that should've never been towed to begin with. My husband owns his own locksmith business, which is a very similar field to towing, and he would feel like the biggest piece of c*** if he ever took advantage of a minor in this kind of vulnerable and uncomfortable situation without an adult present. Unethical!

We are contracted with the apartment complex to tow vehicles without a parking pass so that the residence have places to park so that is our job is towing vehicles without parking passes and anytime a receipt is asked for a receipt is giving this lady never called me one time until after her daughter picked her car up and was the only thing that she said was Very rude things and that the bad reviews are gonna start coming, but she needs to understand if the car is there again without the parking pass that her child forgot to put in it it will be towed again because that is our job and thats what we do. We have signs that are posted cash only on impound and I did take a card and have to charge a $10 fee because my credit card system charges me a fee and I couldve just said no cash only but I was trying to be nice to her.

I do not accept this response because it's just a deflection, not a resolution.  I did attempt to call when I found out about my child's dilemma.  She got a friend to bring her because she was afraid of getting in trouble by her parents because she was scared she would get in trouble for forgetting to place her tag on.  If you have children, you might be able to relate to that possibility.  If you enjoy making your living off of a high school teenager's income, by all means, proceed, if that helps you sleep better at night.   The property management has been made aware of how you proceeded to do business with a child, so I don't know that you'll have that gig much longer.  I hope you don't have children and they never make a mistake and come across adults that take advantage of them as you did mine.  My husband also runs a similar business and can agree that there are some situations that come about to make you take a different approach, but I can see not everyone has the same set of morals.  Oh, also as a business owner as well, you do not HAVE to charge a fee to run a credit card, that is just your way of not paying in a small extra fee and instead charging it to your consumer.  Only the most greedy businesses work this way!  You don't care about customer service, only your bottom line.

    Sincerely,
