On 3-10 at approximately 8:30am Lawerence glass had sent their window technician out to me to change my front windshield on my car. I noticed a front scratch on the windshield and pointed it out to the tech and he jokingly said oh you noticed that from all the way over there he acted so nonchalantly about the matter I thought ok it must be a smudge ***** surely no glass company is going to knowingly put a scratched window in someones car. lo and behold no this was no smudge ***** They left very soon and the calibration tech who was present remained to finish the job by calibrating the window. I pointed it out again to calibration tech and told him look man that smudge has gotta come out before you go Im worried about it, it looks like a scratch. He then confirmed yes indeed it was a scratch and that I would not have to pay for the scratched window. I agreed and told him yeah if Im gonna be paying hundreds of dollars the window should be clean. They left and wanted to redo the job and at this point I did not want them to touch my car. Their tech was smoking while putting my window in and the tech knew the window was scratched. I feel thoroughly uncomfortable letting them touch my car. They are wanting payment and I dont feel like I should pay them for a damaged window. The tech told me I dont have to pay for a damaged window and they are wanting to send another person out and I simply dont want them around my car or around me. Knowingly putting a scratched window in my car is outrageous had I not caught it, they would have blamed me for it.

After interviewing the glass technician from our company, he does not acknowledge the scratch on the glass was discussed. However, our company acknowledges this is one version of the events. If the scratch was noticed by either party after the glass was installed, the glue would need to dry for 2 to 3 days before a new glass could be installed. This glass technician did admit to smoking after the job was complete as he was outdoors and felt it was ok to do so which was inappropriate. This problem has been addressed by management and is unprofessional. After interviewing the calibration technician that was later on the job site, he states the customer pointed out the scratch and was verified by the technician. The customer was informed he would not have to pay until a replacement could be made. Our office staff contacted the customer later to schedule a replacement appointment and he did not want us back just as the complaint states. If the customer is unwilling to let a different technician come out and complete a new glass, we are willing to write off the entire job as-is and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused the customer. As it stands, the customer owes us nothing and we will close the invoice. If the customer is willing to let a different technician come out and replace the glass, we would do so at no charge to the customer.
