1 starThey rodded me changed me twice. I spoke to someone about it and they said I looked at my own report twice. The report that I did get had anything on it. I reviewed your account and see that the customer service team spoke with you a few times on 04/02/2025 regarding your concerns.
I see that originally you requested that we close your account on 4/2/2025 as you didn't want to wait the 72 hours for your account to be credentialed - this was requested in Support Ticket ******. The customer service team responded the same day advising that we acknowledged your request to cancel your account and receive a refund. We also advised that the account was registered on April 1, 2025, and takes three business to credential. We also confirmed we could not process a refund as you agreed to our terms and conditions, all purchases, including the registration fee, are final and non-refundable. This policy applies even in cases where a client chooses not to proceed with the credentialing process or requests cancellation as BGC still incurs those costs.
It does appear that later that day you emailed back and advised that you would like to keep the account. The customer service team replied back the same day and advised that "Your account has been successfully reactivated, and they immediately notified our credentialing team to re-add your account back to their queue to complete the credentialing process.
Later that day we were asked to email the background check and we confirmed that BGC is unable to email reports and advised once your credentialing is completed, you'll be able to log in to your account to review the report.
As of 04/04/2025 your account has been reactivated, credentialed and the report is ready for you to review. It also looks like an email was sent to you from the credentialing team confirm this.
As you can imagine stopping the process and then reactivating the account and then updating credentialing to complete the process after asking them to stop the process does affect the original 72 hour turn around that you were provided and why the process was not completed until 04/04/2025.

Under federal law, we are a consumer reporting agency governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 USC 1681, et seq. Under §1681e, we are required to make reasonable efforts to verify the identity of each new user of our reports and obtain certifications from the user that it intends to use the report only for permissible purposes. To that end, we often ask prospective users for their company name and physical address, websites, email addresses, phone numbers, place of incorporation, etc. We compare the data we receive with publicly available information to ensure that you are who you say you are.
Additionally, we require the user to certify that they have a permissible purpose to receive consumer reporting information. Those purposes are spelled out in §1681b. On your case, you say that you intended to use the report for employment purposes. §1681b also requires special certifications from persons using reports for employment purposes. This may seem complicated and unnecessary to you, but we are merely doing what we must to comply with the law. They charged me $100 to let my account sit in. "Awaiting credentialing," but provided zero assistance in helping me to resolve the issue. Then, when I complained and asked for a refund, they refused and claimed to have run the checks but they can't release them to me because my credentialing can't be confirmed. I see where you contacted customer service on 1/17/2025 and did receive a response back from one of our agents that same day.
I can confirm that what the agent advised you on 1/17/2025 is accurate. After reviewing your account I can see that the reports were completed on the same day they were ordered; however, since the credentialing process was not completed, we are unable to grant access to the reports (once credentialing clears you will have access to any and all reports you have ordered). As stated in our terms and conditions which you agreed to at the time of registration, all purchases are final, and we are unable to issue any refunds for any report ordered or for the failure of completing the credentialing process.

1 starAbsolute trash platform and customer service. They had a glitch in their own system running multiple reports and charged multiple times then blame the customer for so called glitch and call it user error.
Never seen a vendor who will go above and beyond to ensure there isn't a customer resolution. Will be conveniently switching over to another vendor.Review fromAliza S

I've had the same error repeatedly. I've contacted customer service via phone four times, and haven't gotten help any time. I called another time, and didn't even get a person to talk to. I've emailed repeatedly, and haven't gotten any responses. The error that keeps occurring during my background check is the fault of the website, as I've done everything right on my part. I've gotten no help. I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I need this background check done to begin my new job. 1 starThe service rendered by this company is almost completely unusable.
I have attempted to work through with this company since November of 2023 to get some account issues resolved in order to complete a background check for my employer that is expiring in the coming year.
I would caution others, as I have been put through numerous support technicians, many of them doing boilerplate template responses.
There are issues on the site with even attempting to submit a report, such as citing payment issues when there are no screens to even enter the payment information. There are issues with account activation and reactivation, with no place on the site to enter the "legally required attestations". This has resulted in a loop of my account getting deactivated, then someone from support reactivating without looking deeper into my issue.
I would love to be able to use this service, however it is non-functioning and I would recommend others to stay away from this.Review fromLily R

I had a hard time accessing the website and creating a business account. Multiple people at my company tried and the same thing happened. Customer service was unhelpful, rude, also very hard to understand. It turns out that the website magically started to work the following week. So that tells me there was an issue with the website. I get told my company is required to have a Visual Inspection in order to receive product access. I complied. Was told I had access. I don't have access. I was then told again that I have access. I still don't have access. I've been at this for weeks. ******* **** should not use the company anymore and I will try my best to communicate that to them.backgroundchecks.com LLC

Hello ******** It appears you have two accounts that are set up with ***. The first account (****** ***** ** *******) was activated back in November, it appears you called the customer service team and advised you needed a vendor safe account with an *** promo code. The customer service team then advised you that in order to create a business account under the promo code you needed, you would have to re-register via the link that *** provides you as customer service does not create those links. The agent also advised you that he would go ahead and deactivate your account, which was done. Please make sure this is not the account you are still trying to login to.
I was able to locate a current open account for ****** ***** **** ********* that was credentialed this month (December) and it also appears that on December 6th the credentialing team also reached out to you via email and advised that "you registered a business account, and multiple accounts were registered for the same location. Only one account may be maintained per location". We received your email reply back on 12/11 advising of the new main point of contact and confirming the business location. Once your email was received your account credentialing was completed.
On 12/12 you called/emailed customer service to get employment verifications added as part of your background screening needs. The customer service agent immediately sent over that application and also advised that another site inspection would be required (those take about 5 business days to complete). It appears that you had your site inspection on 12/13 and passed and the credentialing team turned the employment verification product on for you on 12/14.
While I am sorry to hear you are having issues logging into your account, please know that I have tested on my end as well and was able to successfully log into your account, with no issues. Please be sure the account you are accessing is Account # ID# ********.

1 starCompany continues to make attempts to charge my card even after I submitted cancellation request. They say it will take 48 hours but going on 72 hours and still getting notifications of their attempts to charge me on top of this, each attempt is of a different amount. 100% Scam!!! Credential process lasted over 3 days when I found another company, that did it in the same day. Phone support of backgroundchecks.com did not give any time frame and idea when to expect my reports. Then I asked backgroundchecks.com to cancel this reports and close my account that they did immediately within few hours, with no refund explaining that their policy does not allow any refunds and that they did this reports, and I wasn't being able to see them just because I didn't finish their credential process.
