****, a rep from Tree Giants came to my home to discuss in detail the work we needed done. We discussed the removal of a large tree in the front yard and grinding the stump, as well as trimming limbs from a tree in the backyard. **** gave me a written estimate of $2,750.00 A few days later I called their office and agreed to have the work done for the price quoted. Later in the month a woman from their office came out and videotaped both trees. Again, she and I discussed the full scope of the work including grinding out the stump. Several weeks later the crew came and took down the tree in the front, trimmed the limbs from the back tree and cleared the brush. They said they would have to come back to grind down the stump, maybe as long as two weeks. All of the work they completed was done in a satisfactory manner. The crew manager then asked for a check in the amount of $3,600. I refused to pay more than was quoted. Soon *****, the owner came to settle the bill and I showed him the quote that **** had left. In an extremely unprofessional manner he accused me of calling his office and demanding a lower price, and accused me of being a "scammer". I agreed to pay the original price of $2,750 understanding that they would come back to grind the stump later in the month. To date, after many attempts to reach the company, the stump has not been removed. We just want the stump removed as quoted by ****.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/29/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/18) */ Mr ***** was given a estimate for $2750.00 in April of 2022. This was to remove a large tree in front and grind a stump in front yard. Between April and June (when work was completed) he'd called our office and added a trim of tree in back yard. In this period of time he bounced around approving job and not, then adding trim. We were actually quite surprised he went with our company after all his back and forth. After adding the trim in back Mr ***** final agreed proposal was for $3650.00. In short we completed the work in June as agreed. We were about to get into the stump grinding when ***** pulled up to site and in conversation with Mr *****, found out Mr ***** seemed confused yet again. Mr ***** says we were to do all the work plus additional work for $2750. In *****'s conversation he asked Mr ***** to provide the quote that stated that because we do not have one on file (doesnt exist). Mr ***** says he did not have one but went inside and pulled a crumbled piece of paper with $2750 written on it. Certainly not from us as all our proposals are digital and sent electronically. He began to argue another company gave him a quote of $2750 and our price should reflect that. He got frustrated and started spinning his wheels once he realized we were on to him. He said he wouldn't pay the agreed price of $3650 and provided ***** a shorted check of $2750. ***** told his team to pack it up and professionally told Mr ***** he didn't appreciate his team being taken advantage of in that way. ***** told Mr ***** that we would not be back for stumps or to do anymore work for him in the future. We do not take pre payment for any work. All of our work is invoiced upon completion. Mr ***** never paid for stump removal which was line itemized for $150. In fact, he stiffed our team $900. Tree Giants owes ***** zero. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There's not a word of truth in the response from Tree Giants. The quote of $2750.00 was written on the back of a blank deposit form from their employee. All the work that we were having done was discussed before the quote was made. We just wish they would be honest and grind the stump as was quoted. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, ***** ***** Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/08/28) */ As mentioned in our previous response. We do not provide quotes on the back of "bank deposit slip" as Mr ***** states. All of our quotes and invoices are digital through QuickBooks system. Mr ***** has been flagged in our system and other systems as a fraudulent account. He did not pay us for completed work and certainly not for stumps as he claims. Multiple people on our staff will concur. Seeing that Mr ***** has not paid us we will not be returning to his address for any type of additional services.
