My home's second-floor heat-pump system failed in November 2021. I hired Trivett's Heating and Cooling to perform a replacement. On 01 December 2021, Trivett's installed a 2.0 ton TempStar heat pump. The new system is one-half ton smaller than the failed, 2.5 ton system they replaced. Mr. Tyler Trivett, the company's owner, evaluated my system need and said the old one was oversized and I only needed a 2.0 ton system. At ambient temp's. near or below freezing, a power-engagement relay on the outdoor compressor unit intermittently chatters and arcs loudly. Mr. Trivett made two diagnostic service calls in March 2022, but was unable to resolve the issue. Once ambient temp's increased, the issue stopped. Mr. Trivett said he could not diagnose the problem if it was no longer occurring. The issue has not been resolved. At ambient temp's of high 80s and above, the system runs 24 hours a day and will not cool my home's second floor to a thermostat setting of 74 degrees, i.e. the second-floor temp. will continuously be between 76 and 82 depending on outside ambient temp. MEMO: I purchased my home in May 2021. It was fully inspected by a licensed inspector and the home's insulation and overall sealing were deemed at code or above and in very good condition. Mr. Trivett made five service calls from May through July for this issue without resolving it. After the fifth visit, Mr. Trivett finally conceded the system he installed was performing at maximum capability, but unable to cool my second-floor. He said he would file a claim to replace the system. Since then, I have received no follow-up communications from Mr. Trivett, in spite of me reaching out to him on seven occasions via text, phone, and email requesting status. I've totally lost faith in Mr. Trivett, so my last communication was an 02 September email requesting removal of the heat pump and full reimbursement for installation. Mr. Trivett didn't respond by my 09 September deadline, so I'm filing this complaint.
