I hired Newby Fence ** to remove an old privacy fence and install a new fence around my home in *********, ** - July of 2022. They started and were close to completing the job when I learned the owner failed to include the electric gate and secondary fencing in the bid. Secondary fencing being the garbage can area, HVAC units, etc.All were fenced prior and it sure seemed obvious they too would be included in the bid. I accepted the mistake and the additional expense because I knew the owner and thought it was the easiest way to get everything finished quickly. In March of ******************** ********* literally blew my new beautiful fence over. I was completely shocked, it was so new and none of my neighbors fences were down?I immediately reached out to the owner to report the problem and get scheduled for a repair. He said I wasnt the only one to call him and report similar issues. He asked that I send him a video of the damage and he would be in touch. I never heard back. Not a word. I tried to hire other companies to fix it but they were not interested in taking on a job someone else had installed. I finally convinced the owner to come look and give me his thoughts. He came, looked and told me that all the foundational beams would need to be replaced and at my expense. I was shocked to say the least but asked him to provide me a quote for the cost. He never provided me a quote. No matter how many times I asked, he wouldnt. When I reached out about needing to get it fixed ASAP, the owner sarcastically responded as if it were a joke. When I found someone willing to fix it. What I discovered and documented:the foundational beams which were 4x4 should have been 6x6. The post holes were dug 12 inches deep or less many 8 inches or less. The industry standard is 2.5 - 4 feet deep guys fixing the fence were literally pulling them up by hand. They dont care. Poor work and less effort. Paid too much to start (13K) and 6K to fix. Crooks.
