We spent 8 nights in a Kirkland’s Smoky Mountain Cabins (KSMC) property. The location and décor were charming. Balcony is wonderful. Kitchen cabinets are clean. Bathrooms are clean.
Great on the surface but beware booking from Kirkland's! There is no one to help if there is a problem. There is also no way to reach the host, which could be a disaster in some situations. Arriving late Saturday night to no television, we contacted the major booking service we had booked with, and were told to give the host 24 hrs to respond. Meanwhile we discovered the horrid mattress in the master bdrm. The next day we found a phone number for KSMC and left a voicemail. On Monday, we called again and left another voicemail, then contacted the booking service, who was not able to reach host. We finally reached KSMC by email, who indicated having heard nothing about our problems. How does a person own a business yet does not have a process to deal with problems that arise?
    (1) Mattresses were old, especially master. No padding or support which was horrible and resulted in back aches. Springs squeaked with even a slight touch. When host finally responded, it was to add a second foam pad to the top of mattress. Now there are 2 foam pads on top of a squeaky mattress without support.
    (2) TVs were non-functional until maintenance man was able to get the TV’s working, and also changed batteries in all 3 remotes. The solution worked for one day. It’s football season and we had to watch games on an iPad.
    (3) There were cleaning issues with dried food on some flatware and skillets. The entry floor was sticky. A dirty towel was left hanging in one bathroom.
    (4) Thankful for a washer/dryer to use for laundry. They were small, but worked great!
    (5) Kitchen appliances were all late model and spotless!
    (6) Décor was charming
    (7) Floorplan was wonderful except for an oversized tub between the master
bedroom and bathroom which was plugged, so just an obstacle to navigate around.
