    I writing regarding this for my dads 4 rental cabins in ****** ***** ******* ********* *** ***** **** ***** *** ***** **** ****** *** ********* *** *** *** ***** *** ** ****** ***** *** *** **** ** ******* ****** **** ***** ***** ************* *** ****** I pay the bills to help him.
Sevier County Utility District is only allowing 1 month late fees per year, removed from billing due to postal service delays, saying they have no control over this. I do not either. They should not be allowed to charge late fees or accuse me of not paying my bills, they can see past history of the account. I have changed payment methods to online bill paying. They will not reimburse or credit these late fees to the account. Bad business for sure when they say no control and charge late fee anyways. I just want late fees credited back to each address. Bills are hard enough to pay these days without businesses acting in such a way.
Billing credits need be applied to each address listed above for any previous unpaid balances for bill date 5/10/24. (Cycle 4/2/24-5/1/24) They don’t even show when payment is received so they could hold till after due date so they can charge late fees. That’s scary and injustice also to many account holders!
My amount for all 4 locations together is ******* so if they do this to everyone, that adds up againist account holders. BBB needs to handle this issue.
Thank you for you time to hopefully help in this matter.
    Sincerely,

The customer has four accounts; all of which have the same billing (10th of each month) and due date (30th of each month).  The customer may access their account online to view bill amounts and make payment, should there be a postal delay.  SCUD billed the customer on March 10, 2024 which was due March 30, 2024.  The bill was not paid until April 9, 2024 which resulted in late fees added to the April bill.  The customer only paid the current bill which resulted in additial late fees for partial payments.  SCUD waived these additonal late fees for each of the four accounts on  May 17, 2024 as a courtesy to the customer.  We do not feel that we should refund the March late fee penalties since we offer multiple payment options as you will see on the back of the invoices attached.  Had the customer contacted us before May we would have been able to waive the March penalty which would have prevented the April penalty.  It is our policy to waive one penalty (the most current) per year as a courtesy to the customer.
SCUD does not hold payments.  We offer many payment options to prevent late payments as you will see on the  backs of the invoices.  This particular payment was made via SmartBank lockbox and would have been processed immediately by SmartBank.
