I had my alternator removed and took it to them to "repair". I paid $100 to have it fixed and when I got it back from the shop I had it put back on and the battery light was illuminated. I took it to AutoZone and had it tested and they said it was not charging. I then had the alternator removed again and took it back to Bill Williams Electric Shop and told them about the light and what the parts store said. He reassured me that it was good and the issue was not any fault of his own. He tried saying it must have been hooked up wrong. This person has serviced many of my vehicles and I've never had a problem, so I knew that was untrue. Finally, I convinced him to keep it and fix it again. When I got it back for the 2nd time I had it hooked back up and the same thing happened, battery light was illuminated and auto parts store saying it was faulty. I decided to buy a BRAND NEW alternator and test his *must be a bad connection* theory. When he put the brand new alternator in, there was no illuminated battery light and the auto parts store said it was charging correctly. I sent the mechanic (in my vehicle which he servied with the new alternator in it) back to Bill Williams Electric Shop to ask for a refund because I knew he would try blaming him again. The staff treated this man so poorly and belittled him like he was nothing. They did eventually refund the money, but refused to let us keep the alternator and have it serviced else where. The alternator was mine and should have been returned along with the money so I could go somewhere else and have it done right in case I ever needed it as a back up. They kept it as if they sold it to me and I was returning it. The alternator was mine and I took it to them along with the money so both should have been returned not just the money. It isn't my fault they put money into something and couldn't get it right. They do not own the alternator just because they attempted to fix it and couldn't get it right.
