I took my 2011 Buick enclave to this mechanic to have the transmission replaced. He told me it was going to be a remanufactured transmission from LKQ. When the job was done, he told me it was not remanufactured. It was a used transmission, and had a 30 day warranty on the transmission itself not the work that was done. Then when we tried to leave and the engine had no oil in it and a rod was knocking so loud we could not hear each other talk. So $4000 later I have a used transmission, and the engine is blown. He told us that he took it on the freeway and went 85 miles an hour to make sure that the transmission shifted correctly. That is probably when he blew the engine because he did not check the oil, he is not remedying the situation at all. He told us he did not touch the engine. He probably should’ve touched the engine before he took it on the freeway at 85 mph. Again, there was no engine problems before taking it to his shop. It had been diagnosed by multiple shops that said it needed a transmission fix not an engine fix.

I cannot attach the pictures of the codes my scan tool found when using it on the vehicle. These were taken 5/18/2024 and sent to the customer in text showing the engine and transmission were both in need of repair. This was discussed with the customer however the customer declined engine work and wanted to continue with just the transmission. Before the customer picked the vehicle up I also sent a message reminding her the engine was in need of repair. The work order that the customer submitted even shows the transmission was listed as a used transmission. This was gone over with the customer when they picked it up, paid, and signed for the vehicle. That work order also shows there was no work done on the engine and that I was solely replacing the transmission.

I did respond to the business’s response. I proceeded to replace the motor after the damage was done by Jacks Garage.
